I bought one for my sister and one for my parents. They live near each other in another state. My parents are elderly and sometimes need to call my sister in the middle of the night. The plan was for them to have this in the bedroom and just ask Alexa to call my sister if necessary. However, once we set it up, they love having the Amazon music plus the other skills that Alexa can be taught so we bought a second one for my parents’ living room/kitchen area. They can even use the intercom skill to speak directly to my sister in her house without needing a phone!

what is the difference between the Apple homepod mini and the Echo Dot?
I’ve used both and I would say the Echo Dot is smarter but the HomePod has much better sound quality.

I read that the hand-off feature needs a U-1 chip to operate, which is why my 2 yr. old iphone XR is not transferring when I hold my phone next to the Homepod mini. Is this really true, and are there any solutions other than a phone upgrade?

Using on IMac. For some reason the num lock, cap lock, calculator keys won’t work. Basically the right side number pad doesn’t work

Whats the difference between the 1st gen and the 2nd gen? And does the 1st gen work with the newest ipad pro (2018)?
The 2nd generation pencil is shaped slightly differently than the fist in that there is a flat side which allows the pencil to magnetically attach to the square frame of the new iPad Pro. Also, the end no longer comes off (and gets easily lost) because the new pencil charges on contact similarly to the way the watch charges by magnetically attaching to the charge cord. The 1st generation pencil does not work with the 11-inch iPad Pro or the 12.9 inch iPad Pro (3rd generation). They require using the new pencil.
