I’m so glad I bought this thing. I would just like to say that I love my ROG ally, and really enjoy gaming on it. It plays all of my games from every platform, and is as versatile as I need it to be. All that being said, the ROG is not perfect by any means. It has it shortcomings, but in my opinion they are far outweighed by the positives.
The ally is a windows 11 fully functioning pc, so everything good and bad that implies is implied. The ally is not a plug and play device, it requires updating and tweaking to get the most out of it. There is lots up helpful information online, on the Asus website and places like the redddit ROG subreddit. After you get it dialed in you’ll enjoy gaming from all sources. I play X box games on it, pc games, I even cloud stream from the included game pass app and from the PlayStation plus app. You can buy games from steam, Microsoft sore, epic games store, and others. You can also download and play EA games with EAplay , which is included in gamepass. I have a series X, a ps5,and an acer predator helios 15 with rtx 4050 I got the same time as the ROG ally, and the ally is by far getting the most time. I think that tells you how much I like it.
On the downside, the storage on the SSD could be bigger, and there’s the issue with the sd card slot reader, but other than that I love it. I save space by playing some games on cloud, as opposed to downloading them. The battery life can be a real issue, but I mostly play at home where I can plug up. Tou can adjust settings to help this, but if you plan on playing a significant amount of time without being plugged in I suggest getting a battery pack that can deliver 65W of charging. If you like gaming, I highly recommend one.

It’s a nice case, it feels good in your hand, and the black aesthetic is nice. The only drawback is the rog won’t fit in the stand with the case on, but it’s quick and easy to remove when you want to use the stand. Overall, a good product.

I decided to take a chance on this movie, and boy am i glad i did! The movie has a good plot, great action, and a nice twist at the end. The dolbyvision presentation was excellent, with realistic flesh tones and specular highlights that stood out against the night backdrop of most of the movie. Colors were vibrant when contrasted against the dark scenes, particularly the reds. Detail was sharp, with no softness that i can recall.
The dts hd master audio 5.1 track is robust and active, with considerable low end when called for. Dialouge was clear, and surround effects matched the action onscreen. The audio mix was good enough where i didnt mind that it was not a dolby atmos mix, although this type of movie would have benefitted from one. This disc has a great presentation for all of you home theater aficionados like myself, with great video and very good audio. I definitely reccommend.

This is a great edition of one of the most groundbreaking movies in the science fiction and anime genres. The steel book has a great look and feel, for those into packaging. On to the movie. The video quality is better the. It has ever looked, with colors standing out a bit more with this dolbyvision encode, particularly the reds. They really jump out at you. Although the video quality is about as good as you can get on film in this animation style, the true star of the disc is the Dolby atmos audio track. This is one of the most immersive mixes I’ve ever heard, it really draws you into the action on screen for more envelopment. The positional audio is fantastic and very accurate, it perfectly mirrors what’s going on screen, and action overhead is heard in the height channels, which are used quite frequently. I watched it on a 7.3.2 Dolby atmos system,and I was thrilled. The bass is pretty good too. Explosions happen with authority, and ring out with good reverb. Whoever the re-recording mixer is who remastered the audio is deserves an award. If I were you , I would definitely buy this disk !

These are pretty good headphones, especially if you’re playing a game that takes advantage of Sonys proprietary tempest audio engine, which these are designed to work with. Sound is very immersive with good positional accuracy. The buttons are a little hard to learn by memory , and it’s not the most comfortable headset, not the least, but not the most. I’d say for 100 bucks it’s worth it. I still like the X box’s wireless headset better for the same price, as it doesn’t need a usb dongle, and it had Bluetooth audio so you can take a call on your phone while gaming, and control the chat mix of the audio, but I like them a lot. I don’t always wear them because I have a 7.3.2 Dolby atmos system in my living room , but they sound great. I would recommend.

I bought these because I was having a problem with my screen going blank for a second and then coming back, and I knew from prior issues with this it was when there was a high Dara transmission rate, for example when I’m using Dolby atmos and Dolby vision at the same time, that was too much for the cable. I previously had this with my Apple TV 4K and narrows it down to the hdmi. Same issue here , because the included cables with my X box series X and newly acquired PlayStation 5 were giving me the same problem, even though they are supposed to come with high speed hdmi 2.1 cables. As soon as I replaced them with this cable, the problem almost completely went away. I had already done the same thing with the cable going from the receiver to the tv. The rocket fish cable worked better than the included ps5 cable for sure, so I highly recommend.

It works fine, if you have the patience to deal with it. I bought this product to extend the coverage to the front part of my house, because the router is in the rear where everything in my home theater system is Ethernet hard wired. I read reviews before I purchased it and when almost everyone said it was hard to set up, they weren’t kidding! The instructor would have you think it’s little more than plug n play with a couple extra steps. Nothing could be further from the truth. I spent several hours trying to get this setup going with the netgear app, and when that failed repeatedly , I ended up doing the web browser setup, which they tell you as a last resort, but it was a lot faster and easier than the app. Also, it didn’t seem to want to save settings if you had to reset it or unplug it and move it for better coverage. After jacking with it for a couple or 3 days, I have it consistently working fine now and I’m getting decent speed from it. Good enough to stream and game. I’ll post a pic from the app of upload / download speed, as it is speed testing built in. If you have to restart for any reason , put your phone or tablet on the Wi-Fi signal rhe exrender generates, and set it up from there. It’ll go much easier. Also, I originally wanted to use it as a repeater, but I had too many problems with that , so I use it exclusively in extender mode. That worked best for me.

A lot of people hated this 4k transfer online , but I thought it was the best it ever looked. The picture was sharp, and the color grading was improved over the HD version in my opinion. The sound was robust for a 5.1 track , and is active in the surrounds. I can confidently recommend if you are a fan of this movie.

I got these because I was rewiring all nine channels of my system and I wanted to terminate banana plugs for ease of use. These are very good and easy to install, but you should watch the YouTube video on how to install them or you may be lost. I saw people saying this in the reviews. So I took them up on their advice, and I’m glad I did. These are high quality and a little pricey, but they have the convenience of not needing a wire stripper. (I have one). One you figure out the first couple, the next go quickly, and the connection is snug and stable. A great option if you don’t have a wire stripper or don’t want to mess with stripping, but you will pay for the convenience. They work great however. No complaints.

Im seeing mixed reviews about atmos on this one. So does it have atmos or not? If not I thought all 4k movies already includes dolby atmos.
It’s 5.1 DTS HD master audio. All 4k movies DO NOT have atmos mixes, by the way. That is entirely false. Some come with the same audio as a previous blu ray mix. Universal tends to use DTS X, which is also great. Sometimes the studio just doesn’t want to spend the money to mix it in atmos, especially if it wasn’t Dolby atmos on the theatrical release. It’s on a case by case basis.
