Steve Barron's big-screen treatment of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comes to DVD with a pair of transfers. The widescreen image preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1, and is preferable to the standard full-frame transfer. An English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1 and a French soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. English, French, and Spanish subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include the original theatrical trailer, character biographies, and an interactive game that is played by using the DVD remote control. This is a fine disc from New Line that should entertain Turtles enthusiasts.

I got it on sale and really like it. Got so many compliments. The battery dies really fast if it is on. I power the screen off mostly to save battery life. But, again if you use it the batter will drain completely within an hour or two if you use its features which is sad.

Turn a small space into an immersive gaming area with this Oculus Quest all-in-one VR system. The wireless headset and controllers provide a compact setup and don't require a PC, and the 64GB of storage accommodate compatible VR game titles. This Oculus Quest all-in-one VR system uses Insight tracking technology for instant, accurate response to movements.

VR for the mainstream
By PeboQuattro from Beaumont, TX
The Oculus Quest has nailed the PCVR experience in a portable, wire-free, all-in-one device. When you read claims that the Quest is a game changer they are not exaggerating. It is the first of what will be the future of VR, period.
Beyond Google cardboard, this is my first VR experience. While I was initially impressed by the 3DoF(3 degrees of freedom) of early mobile VR (cardboard), I quickly lost interest as your movement is not replicated in 3D space. I have followed PCVR space for years but I did not want to invest in the hardware nor did I have the free space to dedicate to the typical PCVR setup (PC, external tracking cameras, etc). When I learned of the Quest I was intrigued but unsure how well a dated Snapdragon 835 could perform compared to a full blown gaming PC.
First off let me just go ahead and lay out all the negatives with the device. No offense Mark, but I wish the device wasn’t tied to Facebook. You should have complete faith in a company who wants you to wear cameras and a microphone in order to operate a device, fortunately I trust John Carmack and the team at Oculus. Truth of the matter is this device may not have come to market this soon if it weren’t for Facebook’s backing and their foresight. Thankfully you do not have to use your Facebook account, it is optional. Privacy concerns aside, the sweet spot (focal area) is small, particularly vertically. Adjusting the headset to get a clear image initially takes a few tries but overtime I found it easier to dial in. Oculus also has fitment guides within the headset that assist you the first time you put the Quest on but you can also run anytime you need. The Quest features a manual IPD adjustment, which is needed to get an optimal image and reduce fatigue. The device is a little front heavy and the straps are fairly rigid, combining for an uncomfortable wear at times. Often I can just reposition the Quest to get an acceptable level of comfort, but I wish the straps had padding to help with the pressure on the back of the head which is necessary to offset the weight of the front. It isn’t the end of the world and you don’t need to strap a counter-weight to the back of it, despite what the internet tells you. The included facial interface (foam piece that cushions your face) is very comfortable and the glasses spacer does not seem to reduce FOV (field of view) significantly. The Quest has speakers built in to the straps, which provides surprisingly rich audio. Oculus also offers independent left-right ear buds, but the Quest supports standard headphones if you prefer.
One of the primary components that makes the Quest unique is the Insight tracking system, meaning the tracking cameras are mounted on the headset tracking not only the environment but also the touch controllers. Oculus even lets you look through these wide-angle cameras in a passthrough mode that is utilized to setup your “Guardian” space. I was probably most impressed with the creation and management of these spaces by the Quest, as without them mainstream VR would be a non-starter. Within 10-seconds of putting the Quest on I can draw a new Guardian boundary and safely use the device in a new space without worrying about running into a wall. In my experience, the Guardian works flawlessly and has saved me from swinging a controller into my TV. I found the key is to draw the boundary a few inches away or before the wall/object you are trying to avoid, ensuring the Guardian pops up before your head intersects the plane of a stationary wall. That seems obvious but hopefully someone reading this will take the necessary precautions! With the latest update, you can even adjust the sensitivity to further customize the behavior of the Guardian system which is nice. Initially I had a few tracking issues with the system, which was to be expected considering what Oculus was trying to accomplish with 4 cameras and a mobile processor. The team at Oculus tackled the issue through machine learning and now the tracking has been solid for me. The controllers even seem to be tracked accurately outside of the view of the cameras (using the IMUs and telemetry gathered since release), which is nothing short of amazing. Not to mention this overclocked mobile processor also somehow manages to run decent looking games at a consistent frame rate!
Speaking of games, the Quest has a nice launch library to choose from. The only caveat here is a majority of the games are essentially ports. For me, I am blown away that they are able to port and run PC VR games at all but I can understand why veteran Rift owners may be disappointed with the selection. This speaks to an issue with VR in general not just the Quest. In addition, not all games are cross-buy despite being on both Rift & Quest. I understand the reasoning behind this as some games are not straight ports, but rather optimized for the Quest and wire-free 6DoF. Regardless, it is nice to have the flexibility to play a game on the Rift or Quest for owners of both. If you are new to VR, this is a non-issue and there is a nice selection of VR experiences to choose from. Currently the graphics are fair but will improve once developers learn to work within the Quest's limitations. A device like the Quest is just what the VR community needs to foster broader adoption which will lead to better quality and selection of games. Storage wise there is plenty of room, with many experiences under 1GB and larger games averaging 2-3GB.
Since getting the Quest, my PS4 is collecting dust..it really is a transformative experience that is unlike any console gaming system before it. At the price point, the Oculus Quest can’t be beat. Carmack’s vision of mobile VR has become a reality, the future is now!

I have not seen anything on the battery life of this. Can anyone let us know how long can we use it without having to charge it? Can we watch a movie? or start a new series?
