DeafCritic's Reviews

The Scosche MagicMount Pro Charge5 Qi wireless mounting charger can be secured to your dashboard, window or any flat (slightly textured) surface with the reusable StickGrip suction cup base. Wirelessly charge any Qi-enabled device with up to 10-Watts of charging power without having to plug a charging cable directly into the device. The foreign object detection makes sure that charging only activates when nothing is obstructing that area (such as metal objects). Perfect for use with Qi enabled Smartphone devices and the iPhone 12, 13 or later with a MagSafe (without the need to use a MagicPlate) to secure the phone to the mount and wirelessly charge it. The extra powerful N50 neodymium magnets are 30% stronger than the original MagicMount to hold your mobile phone device securely in place even on the bumpiest roads and are still 100% safe for all modern smartphones. The low-profile mount safely attaches to your dashboard using the StickGrip suction cup base and can adhere to windshields, windows, kitchen countertops and all other non-porous surfaces. The easy install and dismantling allow you to take it anywhere you need your phone and mount most. NOTE: The Apple MagSafe is not included.

Most reviews complained about the weak magnet. This is true for me when I have my case on and it wouldn’t hold on to my iPhone. However, that only happens when you place your iPhone on it in a certain way. With your case on, if you place your phone vertically on it where it aligns vertically with your phone, it would not be able to hold your phone (same is true for horizon on horizon). If you place your phone horizontally on it being in a vertical position, it holds pretty well. If you want your iPhone to be vertical, adjust the Mount to a horizontal position. Without the case, it holds pretty well regardless of the position.
For $53 I’d expect it to be better than this. I’d not recommend it.

I bought this TV tonight for my bedroom. Set it up and it was a disaster! This model is much more thicker than my Samsung TV in the living room. The stands don’t secure very well to the TV, so it began to topple over. I caught the TV before it could hit the floor. Apparently, the way I had grabbed the TV resulted in a cracked screen. I’ll be returning it tomorrow and get a different brand/model.

Enjoyable! Great start for the MCU!

It's taken me a bit over a year to finally pop in the disc and watch after purchasing this film!
I'm watching the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies in release order and "Iron Man" is the first film in the Infinity Saga. It's a two hour long film. The first half sets up things in how Tony Stark becomes the Iron Man and the second half the action picks up, showing him as the Iron Man. Though it's 2 hours, it is worth watching the movie. So easy to be absorbed into the movie. Tony Stark at the beginning came off arrogant and self-entitled, so the movie forces you to like him because he's the Iron Man! Robert Downey, Jr. did a marvel job playing that role. Definitely the right man to play Tony. It was also a shocker to see how different Jeff Bridge looked in that film, playing the villainous Obadiah. He nailed that role. I enjoyed the film.
4K video: with modern, newer films, it is difficult to tell if there's a difference when it receives a 4K treatment as opposed to older films. I had to pop in the blu-ray version and see some clips to compare. There's definitely some differences. On the 4K version, the colors are much bolder and vibrant. The red on the Iron Man's amour is much more bold. Fires and explosions looks more fierce due to bold colors. The picture in the blu-ray version looks a bit softer and subtly washed out. So, the 4K is definitely an improvement and the definite version to watch in terms of picture quality.

Gorgeous 4K pictures!

"Spartacus" is a long movie - about three hours. However, it is a good movie and it has an intermission to provide you a break. I watched this movie for the first time and was surprised to find I enjoyed the movie considering the time it was produced. It definitely aged very well.
The best thing about this movie in 4K is the 4K pictures. The pictures is just gorgeous! Universal did a great time in giving this the 4K treatment. The difference is like day and night! Brilliant colors. Though you could tell that it was definitely a product of its time (production values and hairstyles for instance), the 4K treatment made it looks like it wasn't made too long ago! It's the best 4K transfer I've ever seen and "Spartacus" definitely will be my reference point when judging the 4K treatment of a film.
Great movie and glorious 4K treatment makes this film worth having in your collection!

Truly a 80s classic!

If you have ever wondered what life for kids in the 1980s was like, watch this movie! You may find the movie campy, some of the scenes and dialogues cheesy, and some of the acting over-the-top, but that's the point of this movie. This is a movie telling kids to let their imaginations go wild and not to always take things so seriously. This movie shared something that the kids could totally relate to. It is a movie where the kids truly felt they are being understood.
It’s a classic because it is a movie that tells kids it is OK to be a kid and adults to let the kids be kids!
As for the 4K transfer, I found it to be pretty impressive. Very clean and minimal grain seen in the pictures. Just because if you see grain in some movies does not mean it's bad. Seeing grains just means that you're seeing the details of the negatives. It just depends on how distracting they can be - too much grain can jar you out from the story and too much grain removal can make the icture look so unnatural. For me, I experienced no issues with the level of grain in this movie.
A Youtube reviewer complained that some of the scenes were so dark that you'll need to be in a darkened room to see the pictures. I did not experience the same issue he had. I was able to see the pictures just fine in a bright room. I believe it just depends on the calibrations of your TV and the type of TV. It also depend on the quality of your TV as well. Buying a cheap 4K TV, such as Insigna, probably wouldn't do 4k movies justice as higher end 4K TVs would.
Definitely a keeper!

Decent Disney live-action film

Story: This is not by far the best Cinderella movie I have ever seen, but it serves very well. A very enjoyable movie, one you could just lay back, relax, and just absorb the story in. I felt that the first half of the movie could be done better, but from the transformation scene onwards is an absolutely delight to watch. The transformation scene with the Godmother fairy and Cinderella and the ballroom dance are worth watching.
Steelbook case: I'm disappointed that they didn't put much effort into the art of the steelbook case to be striking. It just look like a photo from the 1950s slapped on the cover.
4K video: For the most part, there is indeed significant improvement on the video quality compared to Blu-ray. There were some points in the movie where the picture came off as soft, indistinguishable from Blu-ray. I thought the picture upgrade was nicely done.
Subtitles: I don't see any major issues with the subtitles. The subtitles come across at the right pace. Thankfully, there are no very bright scenes that might would make the subtitles hard to read. It's done right.
Disc extras: there are actually very few extras. However, two of them are worth watching. "Staging the Ball" takes a look at creating the ballroom. You'd be very impressed with what they've done and would help you appreciate the movie more. "Frozen Fever" is a very cute, enjoyable animated short featuring Ella and Anne from "Frozen".
In all, I am happy to have "Cinderella" added to my movie collection!

Full-size and fully featured, with the washer on the bottom and dryer on top, the sleek single unit LG WashTower, giving you room to add a sink, a folding table or whatever you like. But unlike conventional stacked pairs, LG~s exclusive Center Control panel is perfectly positioned with both washer and dryer controls at just the right height. Built-in intelligence makes laundry less of a chore by taking out the guesswork, while top-of-the-line innovations put advanced cleaning power within reach.

I saw that it's Wi-Fi enabled. I'm Deaf and I need to know if it sends a visual notification to my phone that the washer/dryer cycle has finished.
