Two stars for pretty people, one otherwise

A ludicrous, incoherent, joyless, formulaic movie. It is not content merely to defy laws of physics; it defies logic. Credulity is strained, snapped, blasted, melted, and vaporized.
The only reason for two stars instead of one is that it has pretty people, pretty pictures in 4K, good use of surround sound, and one interesting character (The Operative, played by the extraordinary Chiwetel Ejiofor).
If you want a good sci-fi, outer-space, or space-opera movie, you'd be far better off with 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Matrix, Interstellar, Inception, Contact, and numerous others. Even Star Wars with Jar Jar Binks.
