Strike Back Tradition Continues

It takes awhile for adjustment to the new set of actors, the plots seem a bit more basic, and the gun fights are more frequent (almost overdone). I liked the original casting better, but the fifth season is still Strike Back, and the programs are certainly a must for Strike Back fans.

Not your typical western.

Hell on the Border follows the western gunslinger vs lawman theme, but beyond that, it was not the typical Cowboy & Indian film, nor the usual Tombstone Arizona Marshal genre. The plot, characters, acting, and historical reference was interesting, and the action was good. Based on the legendary character of Bass Reeves, the first black deputy U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi River, who was credited with arresting more than 3,000 felons in Arkansas and the Oklahoma Territory, the movie is about the beginning of Bass Reeves' lawman career. The story addresses harsh obstacles and attitudes that Mr. Reeves had to overcome, with ample gunfights throughout.

I enjoyed the movie throughout. The plot kept my attention, and the acting was well done. Even though it is an off-shoot, remake of Inside Man, I do like this movie a bit more than the original. The story line was expectantly typical of a bank robbery and hostage scenario, but the end was totally unexpected, and worth watching.

This is a very well done history of WWI from start to end. The details are complete and accurate, and the accompanying actual film footage of the people, places, soldiers, and events really brings it home. The narration is rather monotone throughout, but the well laid out history is a winner, and worthy of it's place in my library.

Master Z is is a great IP Man spin off, that will not disappoint IP Man fans. The actors are expert martial arts masters (the real deal), and the plot keeps your interest, with ample injections of action and martial arts throughout. Dave Bautista's role is a terrific addition to the plot and action. This movie is a must for any martial arts collection.

Not many WWI movies come out, so I was happy to purchase this one to watch. I enjoyed the movie more than I thought I would. The war scenes were realistic and the setting and plot did not stray from typical historical WWI trench warfare descriptions. The plot did touch lightly on the debate over weather or not the last assault of WWI, on Nov 11th, was worth the casualties and deaths. The movie also accomplished a very uncomfortable but powerful portrayal of the racism of the period, that even existed in the trenches of WWI.

I enjoyed it as a young viewer, and find it even more enjoyable and meaningful as an adult. It is also fun to see all of the actors in their early Hollywood careers. This movie was very well done and did a great job of using modern special effects magic to help capture the feel of the early 1940's time period. The movie is a condensed summary of the lead up to, and execution of the battle of Midway. A history buff will easily enjoy filling in additional details while watching, and other viewers will get enough of the historical development to understand the events and important impact of the battle. Both will certainly enjoy a great movie. I liked the way the director tried to match his actors closely to their character roles. The plot, action, special effects, and war scenes were terrific. Well done.

I am a late viewer of, and have enjoyed the various Avenger movies. As a new fan of this Sci-fi genre, I noticed a good Best Buy price for the original 2008 Iron Man movie, and thought it would be fun to venture back to the start of the Robert Downey Jr., Iron Man character. I was not disappointed, and totally enjoyed the entire movie. Great action and special effects throughout. Now I will have to catch up on the rest of the Iron Man series.
