Excellent Steelbook of a very unfairly unappreciated movie. The story is a great, and sure, it is mainly a fan-please film based on nostalgia. It shows alternative world and what ifs, but even with some story caveats and untold/unshown part of the story it is still a tour de force that deserve to be seen. It will probably join this long list of cult film that flopped at the box office but that will be rediscovered for what it truly is: a great entertaining film. they truly are : a great entertaining film.
My only deception is the lack of bonus. A director cut or even a few deleted scene or interviews would have been appreciated.

This movie, based on unfamiliar comics for the common public is a very interesting twist from the current image Batman has. It explores the man behind the cowl, with his doubts and his secrets. In his early days, and has depicted nicely in the movie, he is just a man who is trying to find a new path to justice in a corrupted city. The film, with a very dark ambiance, does a good job showing that on screen but for people interested in the psychology of the batman, this is also a nice introduction to this. I still recommend to read Batman Ego and year One as these 2 comics are essential for old and new batman fans to understand the conflicted man with his multiple identities.
This steelbook edition is absolutely stunning and the bonus featured extensive. Highly recommended.
