Can i put videos and music on this storage, ive bought it for my ps4 as well, works, but now when i connect the drive to my computer it doesnt show its connected, so i cant transfer videos, why?

What is the power source on this? How does it work without a power cable? What happens when the power source dies as eventually it will? Does that mean you lose all your data?
It connects via USB and is powered by the device it is plugged into (Xbox, computer, etc.) The cable disconnects and can be replaced. There should be no worries of losing data. I've been using mine for nearly a year every single day and have no problems, but always backup everything in multiple places.
