Does this allow you to use your iPhone to play HBOGo and mirror it on your tv? I keep seeing conflicting answers. Some people say that’s what they use it for...and others say it doesn’t work with HBOGo.
Depends on your carrier. Apple has an agreement with certain carriers to restrict screen mirroring, especially when it comes to NetFlix and HBOGo. I recommend talking to the Apple specialist in the Best Buy store, that is where I learned about the limitations. Depending upon the phone's model, their is a simple code change in the setup that is required and it will allow the mirroring. The other issue to address is data speed which will affect the picture on the device you are transmitting to, and if you have a weaker signal then you are going to get a low pic quality such as 480p. Take all of these factors into consideration when using your device as a streaming device. Good Luck!!
