Learning is tons of fun with the Drop and Go Dump Truck. Drop a colorful rock into the top of this cute toy dump truck, and watch it tumble into the bucket. Your little one will learn numbers as the interactive truck counts each rock. Once the rocks are in the bucket, push or pull the truck along to see the rocks rumble inside. Nest Protect reliably detects and alerts you to the presence of smoke or carbon monoxide in your home. The alarm speaks to you in a calm, clear, human voice, telling you the location of the danger. It also provides smartphone alerts and battery status updates to help protect your home. This hardwired version is suitable for homes with existing hardwired smoke or CO detectors.
If my power were to go out (and thus my WiFi too) will the units still be able to communicate with each other? I know there is a battery backup for the individual units to work in a power outage, but when wifi goes out can they talk to each other?

Wired Google Nest Protects come with long-life backup batteries, so they'll keep on working when you need the most. If your wired Nest Protect stops receiving power from the building's electrical wiring, it will automatically switch to backup battery power.
Even when it’s running off the backup batteries, your Nest Protect (Wired) will stay connected to other Nest Protects in your home. It will continue to monitor smoke and carbon monoxide conditions and alert you in the event of an emergency or Heads Up alarm. It will also continue to send notifications to the Nest app in the event of an alarm as long as the Wi-Fi network is still working.
