I purchased this unit to help protect a number of vintage audio units that I had restored. The last being a Mitsubishi X-10 upright vertical record player. I spent over three years with a soldering iron and a magnifying glass, not to mention sourcing parts... to see it was completed.
I plugged it in to this unit, and was still in the testing phase when all heck broke loose. I’d been doing some work on it, and had left to go to the store for some parts, only to come back and there was smoke everywhere. It was the X-10. The tv next to it was plugged into a surge protector from dollar general, and it survived fine. The only other item in the house that had been plugged into a wall outlet at the time was a microwave in he kitchen, and it too had taken some kind of a surge. I still have the microwave, and it will only heat items 1 minute at a time now. A few months later, after a storm, I discovered from the power company that the power line from the street to my home was actually perforated in someway, it needed to be replaced. But that was before I spent hundreds on this unit, and thousands upgrading my home electrical system for no reason. In any event, this unit did absolutely nothing to protect that X-10 from the surge that Destroyed it and three years of labor. While I don’t see this as likely being a common problem....I certainly can’t give it any higher than two stars. And only then because it looks pretty cool

Can I buy this phone even though I’m on a prepaid verzion plan?
Oddly enough, Best Buy refuses to sell me the 8+ BECAUSE I was upgrading on a postpaid contract. I’d broken my 6plus and paid it off to allow myself to upgeade. The guy told me the minimum I could get was an XR. Which has been absolute JUNK.

Comment: and now three months later I’m at a store and my carrier is Verizon. And I’m told that I can’t upgrade my paid off iPhone 6plus that’s 3 years old, for an 8 plus. Instead, I have no choice but to “ at LEAST upgrade to an iPhone XR. More expensive...but it the lowest option for a post paid plan.”. But my 6plus was broken, and he had me taking through my car window at the curb. But I told him he was full of it, but had me over a barrel. And right here... they have em.
Ps- the XR is junk. My 6plus didn’t have facial recognition....but in every other category the xr looses. Smaller, thicker, heavier, no telephoto lens, and stays frozen. I’ve had the 7 plus and the 6s plus also....and for real, Save your cash and get the 8 plus with all that, or wait for the 11
