LET'S TALK ABOUT HOW SOME ACTORS ARE JUST MADE FOR CERTAIN ROLES. WE OFTEN WONDER WHAT THE CASTING DIRECTOR WAS THINKING WHEN THEY CHOOSE THAT PERSON TO PLAY THE PART. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT TEND'S TO HAPPEN AFTER SEEING'S THE CREDITS ROLE TO A MOVIE HEAD LIKE MYSELF. BUT THERE'S THOSE TIMES WHEN THAT QUESTION HAS ALREADY BEEN ANSWERED BY THE WAY THE PLOT PLAYED OUT AND HOW SATISFIED WE WAS WITH THE OUTCOME. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE DAY ONE CLASSIC'S FOR THE RECORD BOOKS. FOR A MOVIE WITH THE BUDGET OF $28,000,000 THAT WAS RELEASED BACK ON JULY 17, 1988 IT MADE A ASTOUNDING $83,088,852 AND THERE'S NO SMALL WONDER WHY. IT WAS REFRESHINGLY ENTERTAINING AND A BOLD ONE FOR THE AGES. IT WAS WELL CASTED, FULL OF FUN AND MADE ACTION MOVIES FUN TO WATCH AGAIN. L.A. CONFIDENTIAL has all the trapping of a well directed film that was shot with that old Hollywood feel. It was like being taken back to more nostalgic times when everything in life was tailor made. Like the films of old I had the experience of seeing this one with a new set of eyes. I owned It on DVD but It pales in comparison to seeing the Blu-Ray version of it. Especially when you have a good 4K player and big screen that does a good job of upconverting the content. It was a great movie to see in the theater when first released in 1997 and a even more cinematic experience to enjoy at home present day. I'm loving these new releases and revamped versions of Blu-Ray & 4K movies. This with out a doubt should be in your top 100 If you're a collector.

Talk about how to start a rocky relationship ! Though there's those of you who might beg to differ. At best a rather refreshing take on a romance gone all wrong. It was a odd pairing to see but yet this one hit the mark at bridging the two together. Who would've thought that Romance would meet Sci-Fi this way. To think this love story took place in outer space is what makes it even more appealing. I enjoyed the story line and it was a visual delight. This was by far a perfect example of how to tell a good story and make it believable. There's not much I can say other than It's Simplistically Devine & Optically Refine !

When I heard that there was going to be another Hulk movie I was excited and eagerly awaiting it with anticipation. But when I saw they hadn't given the role of the movie to some who'd bring a certain amount of verve to character I was disappointed to say the least. Though I think Edward Norton is a good actor I wasn't impressed with seeing him trying to fill the void that Bill Bixby left behind. In short I must say Thank You MCU for casting Mark Gruffalo as Bruce Banner Aka The Hulk moving forward. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed this version of it but it never ceases to amaze me how casting directors don't put much effort into getting the right person to compliment the film's leading character's. Thank goodness for the supporting cast. For without it this would've surely been more of miss than a hit.

If you're one for sci-fi, special effects and the visual appeal of 4K with HDR then you'll enjoy this movie. Even though I'd rather see Scarlett Johansson playing roles with more depth. This movie really wasn't meant to stimulate your intellect. It was meant for nothing other than to entertain your need to see a crime based gritty sci-fi movie with a considerable amount of action. Where most films have missed there mark when it comes to shooting in real time 4K this one hasn't and if that's appealing to you then it may make up for the the lack of substance when it comes to the acting performances there in. Even though it did have a rather good cast it fell short of how it could've been received. Perhaps a younger cast with some fresher faces would've given me reason to have a different appreciation for this one.

The Mummy Is a horror classic that's been around since movies was shot in black & whites. The original was betrayed by the lamented Boris Karloff who has his mark on cinematic history with his performances as the for most recognizable horror characters of all time. So It's no small wonder that there's a very large fan base of the film classic. Most of which are some of today's rather well known actors & actresses who are in there 50'S. Tom Cruise being of the many who'd jump at the opportunity to pay homage to a film classic has tried his hand at bridging the gap between the former successor of The Mummy and some of the present day versions we know and love. I would've given this movie 4 stars for the story line, entertaining dialogue and special effects. But it was kind of spoiled with the cameo of Doctor Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. The concept of the film was lost in translation by doing so and it basically played out as more of a distraction than a surprise element. Though it was fun to watch and a movie the whole family could see it didn't make up for the long awaited come back some of us had hoped for.
