I had an old 500 watt Onkyo home theater reciever laying around along with some old Klipsch speakers. They sounded thin. I purchases the T-15's to listen to music in my game room. I already have Polk T50 tower speakers and a T30 center for my theater setup. So I knew what type of quality to expect. The mid bass and highs are rich, smooth and clear. I paired the. With a Polk PSW-108 subwoofer and could not be happier with the setup. I am looking to do a complete Polk audio setup for my vehicle.
Add deep, low-frequency bass impact to your movies and music with Polk's PSW108. This subwoofer is powered by a high-current amplifier producing 50 watts RMS/100 watts clean, dynamic power for loud bass and a wide dynamic range necessary to recreate a life-like home theater experience. Features front-firing 10" composite polymer cone driver that adds depth to your audio tracks and provides more bass impact for your sound system. The cabinet is constructed from non-resonant MDF with internal bracing for superior bass clarity and accuracy. Features flexible inputs and controls like power-saver on/auto switch, independent volume control and a toggle phase switch on the back panel for a cohesive unit. Place the subwoofer on the same side of the room as your system's front speakers for the best performance

I have an old Onkyo home theater reciever laying around along with some old Klipsch speakers. They sounded thin. I purchases the T-15's and notest they still needed more low end, so I got this subwoofer. It matches them perfectly. Not to over powered. Fills in the frequency gap. Very punchy for fast bass double bass in metal, and able to handle low bass in rap. The only issue I have are the toggle style switches for auto on and phase. Would prefer a button or slide switch.
Like the title says, it looks terrible. I have the re mastered bluray version too and tried both my 4k bluray and re mastered bluray on both my Tv's and the 4k version looked very bad on both of them. The player I am using is a Samsung UBD-K8500 and the tv's I have are a Samsung UN65JS8500 and a LG 65 OLED E6 tv which happens to be the main Living room tv. Both of the tvs experience a very dirty sandy look on the actors faces vs the re mastered and cheaper Bluray version I got a year ago. I am very disappointed with this, I did everything I could to clean up the image like reducing the sharpness on both tv's and lowering down the contrast which did help a lot but you could still see this haze of blurryness.
On the Samsung I was able to fix the picture a lot better by selecting BD-wise as a video encoding option on my 4k bluray player which unfortunately only works on Samsung tv's that have that feature but the picture was acceptable.
On my LG OLED E6 in the other hand with the same player, keep in mind I have two of the same k8500 players one for each tv, getting back to the review, i had to do a lot more work on the TV's end just to make it viewable.
I Dont recommend this version to anyone, I love the movie A LOT but I just couldn't stand what Sony did to the 4k disc version, it's like they didn't even try to make it look better.
I had The same experience with the 4k ULTRA versions of the Original Ghost Busters movies and the Laberynth movie as well, the Blurays were fine though just like the remastered one I have of the fifth element.
Since this is the 3rd time I get a terrible copy of a great movie, I'm personally gonna stay away from the older movies from 1990 and bellow as 4k Ultra "remastered" movies and just buy the cleaner Bluray versions from now on when it comes to those older movies of course.
However do not get discouraged with the newer 4k Ultra movies like Enders Game, DeadPool or Assassins creed as those look Amazing on both my Tv's. You can clearly see the costume stitching on DeadPool and you can see Harrison Ford's facial pores and wrinkles on his neck with the 4k Ultra movies lol!

Film Grain
April 13, 2019
The "dirty" look is added film grain. Its added to the movie when converted to 4k to preserve the classic feeling of the movie. Some directors or studios add more than others. Ghostbusters in 4k is nearly unwatchable because of the added grain. But, the added grain in Saving Private Ryan adds to the feeling of the movie. Jurrasic Park was nicely done too. The Blu-Ray version of The Fith Element is dine in 1080 and should upscale nicely if you have a decent player and TV. Don't forget to take into account an audio receiver video passthrough. If you dont have 4k passthrough it will look bad or may not even show up.
