~ Escape From Alcatraz in 4K UHD with slipcover ~
on December 12, 2022

Verified Purchase:Yes
In one of Clint Eastwood's best movies, he stars as an intelligent prisoner sent to the "Rock". Once there, he befriends a few inmates and makes at least one enemy.
The enemy wants him dead after a refusal and fight.
The "friendly inmates" are two guys that also plan their escape wisely.
A neighbor inmate next to Eastwood starts out wanting to join the escape party but cannot find the means to do what is necessary in a timely manner.
The Warden is bent on breaking Eastwood's character by constant checks and wanting to move him to another cell.
Eastwood then sets in motion the escape of the century.
Picture and sound are better now than previously released Blu-ray even. I found it superior.
The details now are excellent.
Sound is also excellent through the soundbar.
Easy selections and menus.
We get a nice 4K, Blu-ray copy, and slipcover.
Highly recommended!

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Slyvester Stallone star in this action thriller about a prison that is seemingly escape proof.
Stallone is a man hired by companies to investigate whether or not their prisons can be escape proof. If they are found with problems, he's the man to find it.
On one such mission, he finds himself in the midst of a brutal warden out to break him.
He befriends Arnold's character, and they both work on a plan to escape.
Together they uncover a plot to keep one or both of them there permanently.
The movie looks and sounds amazing in 4K UHD.
Good quality here and one of the best with these two.
Highly recommended!

The BEST version of this release ever. The Steelbook is gorgeous. We get a nicely done slipcover for it with different artwork altogether.
This is only the 4K release, Steelbook, digital copy.
It looks and sounds better than ever.
One of Arnold's great '80s classics starring the late
Richard Dawson (Family Feud) as the lead bad guy.
Maria Conchita Alonso brings up the beautiful eye candy for the movie.
A great set to get!

It's not a lot of fun when you have to spend Christmas Eve stuck in your sorority house. It's even worse when a bloodthirsty psycho slides down your chimney, hides in the attic, and begins to make anonymous threatening phone calls. It's Ho, Ho, Horror with Margot Kidder, Olivia Hussey, Keir Dullea, John Saxon, and Andrea Martin in this Canadian cult favorite from Bob Clark (InchA Christmas StoryInch). 98 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English; Subtitles English. Three-disc set.

~ BLACK CHRISTMAS gets the 4K release! ~

Unbelievably freaky horror movie of its time and still holds up today!
Margot Kidder (Superman, The Amityville Horror), John Saxon (A Nightmare on Elm Street I and III), Olivia Hussey
(Jesus Of Nazareth) star in this intense thriller about a Sorority House terrorized by a homicidal lunatic that takes refuge in the attic, unbeknownst to the sisters during Christmas holiday season.
The sisters start to receive these perverted and horrific calls on the phone and seek help from the local police to identify the culprit.
In time, they think they have narrowed down the suspect, but it is not all what it seems.
This movie, although made the year after The Exorcist, is just as scary as it was then. A tense thriller, but not for the younger viewers.
The 4K looks good for a 1974 fllm mostly done at night to showcase the Christmas lights, scenery, etc.
Nice slipcover, 3-disc set!
Get this one now for a horror Christmas good time!

1987's comedy holiday release of Trains, Plains, and Automobiles finally makes it to 4K UHD.
This is a good release, but be aware this is only the 4K/Digital code. The Blu-ray included here as a bonus is only special features.
A nice slipcover is also provided.
The Blu-ray version has previously been released a number of times.
The movie looks and sounds good.
It is not a super improvement over the Blu-ray version, but glad to have it now as part of the 4K library.
If you already own the Blu-ray, I would say keep it.
Otherwise, you can get this one, a bonus special features blu-ray, digital code, and slipcover.

A good release from Paramount, but not the greatest.
I am very pleased to have the steelbook now and the original version.
However, the Theatrical version is only on the DVD included.
Looks to be a DVD that has been previously released.
Nothing new in this package other than the steelbook and the Digital code.
Artwork is solid., Love it. Inside though is okay. No scenes on the inside of it. I would have loved for them to put
the last scene in the movie inside the steelbook of them all on the beach at Coney Island.
I had the previously released Blu-ray already, so it is the same one as far as material is concerned. The artwork on the previous one is much better. Here, we have a lazy blue color on it for the Blu-ray.
The movie looks and sounds great on the HD Blu-ray.
The DVD here is okay, with specks of dirt throughout the movie.
A solid 4 stars here but could have been better.
I recommend if you do not own the steelbook and digital code.

Great set and price on Black Friday! $35 bucks off! Had to have it. The 4Ks look really good and sound is great also with easy selections.
However, for some reason Sony had decided to cheap out on the packaging for this set.
I mean, if you are releasing the trilogy in 4K for the first time, make an effort.
The discs were stacked on top of each other rather than putting them in a 3-disc holder.
I did it myself and now it looks much better and easier to handle them in their own space.
Find a good deal on this set and get it!

~ Blow Out on 4K from Criterion ~
on October 28, 2022

One of my favorite John Travolta movies comes to 4K format!
BLOW OUT is that early '80s thriller with Nancy Allen (Carrie, Dressed to Kill, Robo-Cop).
John plays a soundman for an independent movie company and while recording some audio one night locally, he notices an accident that has a car going into the river from a bridge. He saves the woman inside, and then gets entangled into a political murder mystery involving the woman (Nancy Allen).
The movie looks really good here on 4K, probably the best it has ever looked.
Menus are good and there are some extras from Criterion, of which were brought over from the previous releases.
The only thing that was not upgraded was the sound for the 4K.
It is DTS English 2.0 and if you have a good soundbar, at least, it's good enough for this movie.

It may seem a smaller movie, but it's really big
By jsoto279 from Illinois, USA
Obviously, everybody was waiting for Avengers: Infinity War, but, we were also curious to know what would happen after that. It was up to Ant-man and the Wasp to bring us back from those devastating events. It was also obvious that anything in comparison would seem diminished. But, if you give it a chance, you will see that this movie is as a larger than life adventure to awe and entertain everybody. The steelbook presentation is as big a collector's item as the movie. So it is highly recommended to get them both

I am a big Marvel fan as well since 2008's IRON MAN. In this particular movie, it was never "up to" ANT MAN and THE WASP to bring us back from the events of THANOS using the Gauntlet with the INFINITY STONES. That event actually took place at the very end of the movie when ANT MAN himself was in the Quantum Realm. Dr. Pym, his wife, and THE WASP were all on the rooftop when, bam!, SNAP of the Gauntlet took place in RAWANDA where THOR and many of the AVENGERS were, including BLACK PANTHER. It's going to be up to CAPTAIN MARVEL and the rest of the surviving AVENGERS to take on THANOS and devise a plan to go back in time.

Test your skills against the classics with this Arcade1Up Atari arcade cabinet. Its 12 titles let you explore hours of retro-style gaming, and the 17-inch full-color display, sounds and authentic controls amplify the experience. The original artwork and upright design of this Arcade1Up Atari arcade cabinet create a stunning focal point in game room displays.

Could be awesome with a couple improvements. But..
By Robert from MN
The trackball is very nice and the buttons are okay, but the spinner is pure garbage. It's a hollow plastic thing that you can literally FEEL mechanically bumping a switch to register rotation. If you're familiar with an actual arcade spinner, it's a hefty metal knob connected to a disc with holes, with optical sensors peeking through them. That ain't what you're getting here. Every "bump" or two moves you to the next segment in Tempest; the software is able to animate your thing "crawling", but the spinner device resolution is so poor that it just doesn't happen.
The video resolution is very poor (like, 800x600 or worse, by my visual estimation), which makes for a lot of visible jaggies on the "vector" games. The monitor is roughly 13.25x10.5 inches, so the vertical games have unused real estate on the sides. Tempest, strangely, seems letterboxed on all four sides.
Missile Command and Liberator play pretty well. Quantum is nearly unplayable because the trackball sensitivity is set too low, whereas Centipede and Millipede seem like the trackball sensitivity is set just a bit too HIGH.
Lunar Lander doesn't use either of the available analog controls for thrust, so that leaves you tapping a button to pulse-thrust, which isn't how the arcade machine worked.
Button placement is okay for everything except Gravitar and the two Asteroids games, just because the tractor beam / hyperspace button is "C", NEXT TO the rotation buttons, rather than below them where your thumb could reach.
Sound is pretty good; it's just a single speaker and the volume control is a 3-position switch though, so don't get your hopes up too much.
I haven't assembled the cabinet yet, but there's no way this could be a solid $400 value unless the spinner control was as solid and authentic as the trackball is, and the graphics were at least as good at simulating a vector display as a 15-year-old laptop running MAME can.

Originally made for cable television, this imaginative biopic chronicles the life of Marilyn Monroe (Mira Sorvino), including the years before she changed her name from Norma Jean Baker (Ashley Judd) and was transformed into the screen persona that made her a legendary sex symbol. The movie employs unconventional, dream-like storytelling techniques in which Marilyn and her former self, Norma Jean, frequently appear in scenes together, with Norma Jean often taunting Marilyn for not living up to her earlier aspirations. Many facets of Monroe's life are examined, including her childhood and adolescence when Norma Jean had to live with foster families because of her mother's psychological problems. In addition to referencing Monroe's work on such films as Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953), The Seven Year Itch (1955), and Some Like It Hot (1959), the movie explores her marriages to baseball great Joe DiMaggio (Peter Dobson) and famous playwright Arthur Miller (David Dukes), and her romances, including her purported relationship with U.S. President John F. Kennedy (Steven Culp). The film also offers a hard-hitting look at Monroe's struggle with drug- and alcohol-dependency.

Great Packaging for a Trilogy!
By KJT4B
Pros: I love it when they put a trilogy or anthology in steelbook packaging, especially a single case like this! As a collector this is huge, as space is a premium on my shelf. Digital copies included is also extremely beneficial for those moments I want to watch on the go or am just too lazy to go get the case and road the player. All in all a great purchase that would recommend.
Cons: This is a constant complaint of mine - typically folks who purchase textbooks are collectors and go out of their way to acquire textbook editions of movies; why can't they 1) make the movie info card cover easier to trim for saving inside the cover? Or 2) make it smaller in the first place so there's no trimming required? They should consciously anticipate their audience for steelbooks: collectors. Second, I was lucky to discover the trilogy coming out in steelbooks so that I waited to purchase this one; otherwise, if I remember right only 2 of the 3 were available as steelbooks at Best Buy... my solution would be for Best Buy to initiate a "Steelbooks Collectors Club" or something, where you could get on a special list and get head's up notifications of future steelbooks, with the option to remind us when something can be pre-ordered.

"No Theatrical Releases in Set"
April 1, 2020
There was NEVER a plan to include those in this set. They are NOT the ones George wanted in the first place after the fact he had the technology to do what he wanted.
If you are so bent on getting the mistake prone, optical effect laden gaffes in the IV, V, VI ones, go for it. Good luck finding a machine that will play them on.
VHS sets out from mid to late 1990s.
Laserdisc sets out from mid to late 1990s.
So rating the entire box a 1 STAR because you're upset it doesn't have those is a joke. You're obviously paying DISNEY more money in the long run for individuals. So, you are giving DISNEY MORE. lol

Not Perfect, but Still Great
By Shawn
This set doesn't include the original theatrical versions of the original trilogy, which is what fans have been truly waiting on, but this set is still the best available so far. 4K audio and video is outstanding for most of the films, with The Phantom Menace having the weakest looking video. The set looks nice and the booklet is also attractive, however sliding the discs in and out of the booklet requires some patience and care. Overall, this is a nice set that is a no brainer for collectors, but it's not quite the ultimate set that many have been looking for.

Overall review of the "Skywalker Saga" 9 movie Set
By 93Vet
Having been a long time fan of the series, starting on the infamous date for all SW fans, 25 May 1977, I was eager to get this set and have all the movies in UHD 4K.
This set does NOT include the SW stories "Solo" and "Rogue One".
I will be getting "Rogue One" separately for the 4K as I have "Solo".
The box itself is decent, it has a leather like feel to it and opens up on the sides to reveal a middle "silver book" that contains all the discs and original artwork from each of the 9 movies.
The movie pages have the 4K and Blu-ray disc housed in their own respective sleeves on the upper right corner and are labeled as such when you remove them. Removing them is a sticking point, but as with anything disc, you have to handle with care. They are a bit tight as this is a new set and I think over time it will loosen a bit for each disc. The outer black case does not line up absolutely on the line, and that is a bit of a disappointment when it comes to the Death Star graphic on the front, but that is a minor thing to me. It's not handmade by Rolls Royce.
The 9 bonus discs are pretty good, but NOT all the material for each movie is in THIS set. There is new material, interviews, etc. for this set mixed with original material brought over from the 2011 9 disc set.
You can find more on the 3 bonus discs that came with that Blu-ray set. Keep those 3 discs if you have it.
Also, the 2004 Star Wars Trilogy "Bonus Material" DVD is exceptional with the vintage IV-VI trilogy content. Has ALL the trailers for those three movies and the EPIC documentary "Empire Of Dreams". That to me, is THE documentary for the original trilogy. This is NOT on this 2020 Box Set.
Some of the vintage trailers are on the bonus discs for IV-VI.
Episode IX does NOT have any deleted/extended scenes on the bonus disc. Why? I don't know. I do believe there is much footage that could have been added here. We get a "Skywalker Saga" documentary, rather it's a behind the scenes 2 hour video mostly about VII-IX with a little bit of footage from IV-VI added in here and there. No mention of Episodes I-III at all.
The plus here for me is the total package, although the disc sleeves may have been better, it doesn't appear they will scratch easily as the material behind it is slick. They are tight on the sides, but I believe over time it will loosen a bit. Handle with care as always. We get all the movies on UHD 4K with newer prints. The original trilogy (IV-VI) has never looked better.
No, it does NOT contain the 1977, 1980, 1983 theatrical releases with all mistakes and film defects inherent in those, even now in later format releases (VHS box sets/1995 THX Laserdisc sets).
You will never see those on a UHD 4K set.
George made it clear many years ago, that the movies that were originally seen on the screen in those years were not the complete vision he had at the time. He couldn't do alot of things he wanted because of the limits of technology at the time. So, he basically had to wait unitl the movie technology caught up.
Even if this set is not the most perfect one, I do like it, but it could have been better overall for content and the placement of discs in the sleeves. Artwork is well done and the artwork on the discs are well done, too. A solid 4 Stars.

You are not going to get the 1977 "version" on 4K or Blu-ray. In fact, this was released in 2004 on DVD, but the quality was atrocious for that format's ability.
The only way you are going to get the '77 version is either through one of the following formats:
The 2004 DVD (official release)
The 1995 THX VHS Trilogy Sets (official release)
The 1995 THX Laserdiscs (official release)
The "Despecialized" version on Manufactured on demand Blu-ray disc (unofficial release)
I do not work for Disney, but I have been a long time fan of the series from the very beginning. I went to the first showing in my City on May 25, 1977. I was 10.

New to 4K. This collection features the wonder of the entire Star Wars saga, capturing the moments from a young Anakin Skywalker's descent into the dark side to the rise of the Resistance and their struggle to restore peace in the galaxy. The story that electrified a generation comes to a striking conclusion.

Excellent Compilation

I didn’t award FIVE stars because Lucas didn’t provide the original, theatrical releases. We get the kiddified Cantina shootout where Greedo fires first and Han fires best. No need for this: once Greedo pointed his blaster at Han, that’s an overt act of aggression and Han acts in self defense when he fires, even when he fires first as in the theatrical release.
For this price point, a lavish, illustrated hard bound book really would have set this piece off. But maybe they’re waiting to fleece us for an 8k version?
On a related note, I would love to see the Star Wars saga updated and re-released in theaters and Blu-Ray. For example, the death of the Death Star should no be so swift. A gigantic moon sized station shouldn’t vaporize but rather split up in big and small pieces. A Death Star meteor shower into Yavin’s moon and stormtrooper bodies and body parts would more convincingly demonstrated the destruction. The Super Star Destroyer, or should we say Stupor Star Destroyer, does nothing in the series. Change that!
But this is an excellent purchase and will entertain for a long time. Buy and slot in Rogue One 4k too.

Greedo fires first?
April 16, 2020
The Cantina scene on the 4K disc did not have Greedo firing first. There was an added scene with Greedo saying a word and then they literally shoot at each other at the same time, with Greedo missing and hitting the wall. This is a new scene added from Greedo. It did not exist in prior releases.

Retrogaming fans and pop-culture enthusiasts have been clamoring for it, and here it is courtesy of Arcade1Up: the Atari Legacy CENTIPEDE Edition home arcade machine, for the first time in a form factor shaped just like the original classic arcade cabinet!

There are misleading images of this unit's screen size when showing Centipede. The game is a vertical game as it should be. However, there are photos of it being squashed or horizontal. Which is it?

Evolving from its 1958 beginnings as an amusement game manufacturer, Midway produced some of the hottest arcade games of the 80s and 90s, that have since been adapted into film, television, and much more.Their monsters-wreaking-havoc title Rampage~was a giant early hit, and then leaps in live action digitizing technology led to Mortal Kombat~, recognized as one of the most important titles in video game history. With it~s over the top darkly humorous gameplay and finishing moves, Mortal Kombat~became an instant franchise with iconic characters and enduring catch phrases.

So, what's the actual date of release now? Arcade 1up had it in March and Best Buy says Dec. 31, 2021. lol There are many of us eagerly awaiting to get this unit when Arcade 1up SAYS and sends an email stating it is READY for Preorder.

Does this come with a deck protector as well? I know the most recent ones have had it, but this does not specify.

Set up your gaming room with this Arcade1Up Ms. Pac-Man arcade game console. The classic upright design has a midsize profile for seamless fitting in tight spaces, while the 17-inch LCD screen offers crisp visuals for complete immersion. This Arcade1Up Ms. Pac-Man arcade game console features four games for a complete nostalgic experience, and the coinless operation allows unlimited play.

When will you put this out for sale? It's now October 13 days to go until your October 14 release date. Tired of seeing coming soon. Soon has came a gone lets get on with it then.

That is true, but, Best Buy usually has a different version, a lighted marquee, and sometimes games will be different as well.

How difficult is this to assemble ? How does it come in the box? I am worried about the electronics and it being assembled correctly.

HI Buffy, well, I own the STAR WARS unit with the riser and I did not have difficulty in assembling that unit. This unit is fairly good and decent to assemble.
The instructions are fairly well put and easy to understand in the manual.
The items come well packed in the box. If you are picking it up yourself, make sure to look the box over for any damage or openings on the box itself. Do not buy those.
Just make sure it looks good before buying and keep the receipt handy if there are any kind of problems or pieces damaged/missing inside. You can return promptly for exchange or refund.
Double check your wiring when attaching the electronic cables, etc. before finally putting the backboard on with the screwdriver and closing it up. Make sure any switches are turned to the ON position.

I would recommend getting this unit at BEST BUY as it is the best version called the SPECIAL EDITION.

That comes with ~
LIGHTED MARQUEE
LIGHTED PROTECTIVE PLAYER DECK
CUSTOM RISER
CUSTOM STOOL WITH GRAPHICS

Do any of these machines use quarters like a real arcade game or do you just turn it on and play?

No, Arcade 1up machines do not use quarters, only electricity and some frustration when it doesn't work properly. lol

After I pay for the arcade, can geek squad come to my house to assemble the pacman arcade?

Annie, just get a good screwdriver and lay out all pieces, items out as I did. It is not hard to assemble. The instructions are fairly good and detailed. I believe you can do it in a little over an hour. Save your money.
