I had hopes for this one due to the fact Al Pacino was in it as the head coach. His part was good and he did well in it.
Other than that, the movie was laden with F bombs, drug use, profanity every few seconds it seemed, nudity I did not want to see for a sports movie of this kind.
This is not a good one to see about a football team.
There are so many other ones that are better. Do your research.
Even Cameron Diaz uses the F word like it's a normal daily word use. Not a fan of her, overall.
Other than that, the movie was laden with F bombs, drug use, profanity every few seconds it seemed, nudity I did not want to see for a sports movie of this kind.

Kurt Russell stars as the Hockey coach that set up a team to take on and defeat anyone in the 1980 Winter Olympics.
The road was tough, but in the end, he had the best team in the entire world and won the USA Team a Gold medal, defeating the seemingly unbeatable Russian squad and the Finland team for the Gold medal round.
What a fantastic sports movie!
This is one of the best sports movies ever made. Hands down. Even if you are not a huge hockey fan, like myself, I loved it. I am a fan of Kurt Russell (Escape From New York, Escape From L.A., The Thing, Big Trouble in Little China).

Nice slipcover for it as well. They have been producing some great steelbooks and am really enjoying adding what I can to the 4K/Blu-ray library.

This is one of his very best movies he ever did. For me, it is in my top 5 of his. Rocky being number one.
The transfer is better than the previous release in some ways, but it depends greatly on the equipment you are watching this new 4K edition on.

Flash Gordon isn't for everyone, but it is a good movie set in 1980.the music score is what makes the movie really good because new score is all done by Queen. What makes the steelbook really good as it's the 40th anniversary of the movie itself. Anybody knows the story behind Flash Gordon knows the story itself. Flash Gordon, Dale Arden, and Doctor Zarcough have to find a way to stop Earth's destruction. Not knowing that Ming the Merciless is behind everything and Earth's destruction. Having the 40th anniversary edition come out on steelbook is worth every penny.

Hi, I have Ms. Pac-Man on a tabletop version and it is exact like the genuine ARCADE version from early 80s. In the original version of the game she starts out slow and then she speeds up as you clear a few screens, around the PEACH and APPLE stages.

The very best aspect of this over Arcade1up's original Pac-Man offering is the upgraded monitor. The original Pac-Man's image would wash out when you looked at it from a slight angle. This rendition does not do that. The image is bright and crisp from any angle. The monitor is also set further back in the cabinet and tilted more, which does not sound like much on paper until you actually play it and compare it to the real arcade machine.
I buy these things solely with modifications in mind, therefore I did not play any of the included games right out of the box. For those who do not "mod" these, the assortment of games is a vast improvement over the chintzy offering of a mere 2 Pac-titles in the last Pac-Man cabinet. I am baffled by the inclusion of "Galaga" however. Pac-Man's "lady friend" would have been great here, but she is getting her own royal treatment (and deservedly so) soon. I must point out that they did change the way the control panel mounts to the cabinet and how the lower two front-facing panels (these are also slightly resized) directly below said control panel install. Because of the alteration(s) to the control panel, you cannot just slide in/out the panels below it, which will make for a tricky assembly process. The shape of the cabinet itself is another notable improvement as it veers much closer to capturing the profile of the real thing. The speakers (yes, speakerS) are now housed behind/under the marquee, which is also far more arcade-like not just in looks but also sound reproduction.
The light-up marquee, light-up (albeit non-prototypical) control deck, bar stool and riser make this package the best value of any Pac-Man 40th anniversary offering, as separate-sale risers are VERY hard to come by; and, to my knowledge, the 40th anniversary-themed bar stool is not sold separately at all. Again, I will gripe that the design on the riser does not look like a natural extension of the cabinet. The faux-wood grain should be on the sides and the black in the front. Oh well. This can be fixed with after-market graphics for those who really feel the need. I think I personally would have preferred the cabinet to be yellow like the 1980 prototype, but the "cabaret" models of the time did indeed have a wood grain finish, albeit with no graphics.
If you did not get the original Pac-Man cabinet from Arcade1up, this is most certainly worthy of consideration. Other than the slightly trickier assembly, this is an improvement in almost every way.

Hi, great review of the newer version of PAC-MAN from Arcade1up. I am going to get this one for my upcoming 54th bday! Yes, I am showing my age, but, I was 13 when the original cabinet came out. I loved it then and I still love it now. I would have to agree with you on the riser part as per the graphics, but, I think they were going for a contrast look. Agreed also, they should have continued the wood grain on the sides and kept the black on the front to make it look uniform. I do love the SPECIAL EDITION from Best Buy. Not only do you get the light up aspects of the unit, you also get the stand with the graphics.
My only complaint would be the unit having the AUDIO switch setting too loud if you go beyond 1.

That's too bad. I think you got a glitch in the part where the circuit board is. I had the original GALAGA/GALAXIAN game and in some games on the GALAXIAN the screen froze up right in the middle of playing. I was not a happy person. I got rid of it and sold it cheap to someone else that wanted GALAGA, which had no issues.
SUPER PAC-MAN is going to be on the MS. PAC-MAN cabinet coming soon AND there is a SUPER PAC-MAN cabinet from COSTCO that has it on it's own. This just came out within a few days to a week. September 15, 2020. You have to go to COSTCO and find someone with a membership to purchase. You cannot get it online to my knowledge.

Packaging was great and care has been taken to protect the parts in transit. Assembly was about 1.5-2 hours from start to finish. I was taking my time to make sure I didn’t scratch any pcs during assembly. The cabinet looks great and the light up marquee really makes it stand out. The graphics on the riser add a nice touch as well. The cabinet comes with dual speakers and the sound quality is good. I bought the cabinet for Ms Pac-Man but having Dig Dug was a bonus. Overall I’m really happy with my purchase and would recommend.

The definitive collection, and probably the last one you’ll ever need (unless they do a 4K release in the future). The first four films have never looked better, period! And if you’re a 3D supporter (we’re a dying breed these days, but we’re out there!) then you will love finally having a proper 3D release of Part 3! Also, having the Unrated Cut of Jason Goes to Hell is a major plus! The bonus features are very informative, though it’s a shame that the Crystal Lake Memories documentary isn’t included. That’s not to take away from what Scream Factory put together. This is an AMAZING collection!

HI, I have this set as well from Shout! Factory and it appears there is a minor audio issue with Jason X. A sound effect is not present when Jason goes to kill a woman character in the movie.
JGTH seems to be missing a scene from other reviewers I have read on. I am not worried about this as I have the UNRATED DVD from Lionsgate already.

Great movie. But so removed from the original animated movie, you might enjoy it more if you consider them to not have anything to do with each other. There’s no music, no Mushu, no romance. The only real thing making it a Mulan movie is her name is Mulan. They don’t do a great job of making you feel like she’s a boy in the army. It’s a lazy gender bend if you ask me. But the movie has everything a live action Disney movie can want or need. Great story, great special effects, great score, great action and emotion. Just don’t compare it to the cartoon too much and you’ll like it a lot more.

Unlike some other buyers, luckily my copy came right on time and in perfect condition.
The movies themselves are phenomenally mastered with crisp picture, robust hdr color/contrast, and awesome 4k textures I've never seen before on previous inferior versions. These look excellent in my home theater and serve as the new showcase for my system (which used to be Mad Max: Fury Road). The steelbooks are attractive and come with cushioning foam in the slipcase to protect them from rubbing against each other.
Not as much extra content (i.e. The Appendices) as previous versions, so I'll need to keep my old copy as well.

Yes, agreed on the extra content. The Blu-rays have already been previously released, so, I didn't expect them again in these newer sets.

Brings back memories of hanging out at the Arcade with a pocket full of quarters when I was young. My daughter absolutely loves it and we enjoy seeing who can get the high score on this 40th Anniversary Pac-Man. The custom stool is nice and the backlit Marquis and control deck is really nice. The led control deck has a button on the right that can change the colors or slowly rotate through all the colors. The replay value is good for the list of Pac-Man games plus you get Galaga! Very happy.

You're going to hate buying this version when a New 12-1 Legacy Edition is coming, better cabinet, more games, for the same price.

Retrogaming fans and pop-culture enthusiasts have been clamoring for it, and here it is courtesy of Arcade1Up: the Atari Legacy CENTIPEDE Edition home arcade machine, for the first time in a form factor shaped just like the original classic arcade cabinet!
There are misleading images of this unit's screen size when showing Centipede. The game is a vertical game as it should be. However, there are photos of it being squashed or horizontal. Which is it?

So, what's the actual date of release now? Arcade 1up had it in March and Best Buy says Dec. 31, 2021. lol There are many of us eagerly awaiting to get this unit when Arcade 1up SAYS and sends an email stating it is READY for Preorder.

Will this box set include the unaltered original trilogy? What other “bonuses” are included in this set that makes it worth $249?
No, I do not believe it will contain the unaltered original trilogy. Those are only available in the THX Widescreen/Full Screen Editions on VHS and Laserdisc from 1995.
George Lucas did release them on DVD in 2004 as a bonus in another package but they were not remastered or restored. They were inferior copies to say the least.
All 9 Star Wars "Skywalker" movies are in this set on 4K UHD/Blu-ray/Blu-ray Special Features disc/Digital Copy for each movie.
That's 27 discs total, plus the special artwork/packaging.
The only movies that will NOT be in this set are ROGUE ONE and SOLO, which are Star Wars Story movies.

do the bonus disks also come on digital?
I don't believe so. All previous releases of these SW movies have never had the special features on the digital format included. I think only the movies will be digital coded.
Therefore, Disney makes more money if you want to go and get the special features.

how do I get the 3D version? That is the only way to watch star wars.
Good question, I have been a long time fan of SW since the very beginning in May, 1977. It seems Disney is reluctant to provide us with their 3D versions of the movies. I do not understand this. The only 3D set that I have is from STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. That was a completely separate black sleeved set for purchase.
Hopefully, they will release it separately, but it does not appear it will be a part of this particular set.

Will a digital download code be included with this?
It looks like Best Buy is including this in the box set for all 9 movies.

Just to be sure , it doesn't include Rouge One or Solo but does it contain The Rise of Skywalker ?
It will not include the STAR WARS STORY movies, "ROGUE ONE" and "SOLO".
These will only be the 9 Star Wars "Skywalker" movies, all on 4K UHD and Blu-ray, plus any special features that most likely are already out in previous releases on one Blu-ray for each movie. DVD format will not be included in this set.
