A future cult classic

Anarchic, outrageous, funny and frighteningly relevant- This films examines the extremes of society in terms of racism, culture appropriation and hyper-consumerism through the surreal tale of a telemarketer trying to make it big. Not for everyone but I’d still recommend at least seeing it once.

Back in Clinton Era L.A., 13-year-old Stevie (Sunny Suljic) wasn't getting much attention from his oft-absent single mom (Katherine Waterston), or much more than abuse from his moody, damaged big brother (Lucas Hedges). When he falls in with a pack of slightly older skateboard kids, he may find the acceptance he seeks-and maybe more trouble than he can deal with. Jonah Hill's trenchant debut as writer-director co-stars Na-kel Smith, Gio Galicia, Ryder McLaughlin, Olan Prenatt, Alexa Demie. 84 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

Nostalgia Feels

From the cinematography, music choice and overall ambience, Mid 90s will resonate heavily with those who grew up in that era. However the themes explored, the emotions depicted lend to a edgy yet sweet coming of age story that many will relate to to a certain degree regardless of whether or not they lived through the 90s.

Kathryn Bigelow translates her knack of white knuckle suspense and action very well into this harrowing tale of a time we wish had never happened.

CIA agent Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) and black ops specialist Alejandro Gillick (Benicio Del Toro) plan to further the war between the Mexican drug cartels in the hopes it will stop Islamic terrorists from being brought into the U.S. over the border. They kidnap the daughter (Isabela Moner) of one of the cartel bosses, but when Gillick refuses Graver's order to execute her, the two comrades find themselves on opposite sides of a very deadly conflict. Jeffrey Donovan, Catherine Keener co-star in this thrilling sequel. 122 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English. Two-disc set.

Better than it deserved to be.

The original is a classic. This one is fairly redundant but st the same time very well acted and shot. Some sequences are genuinely great and while the story does get nonsensical at times due to the scope of the lore expanding, it’s still a great film.

With an immaculate score, vibrant and colorful cinematography and some brilliant performances, this drama is a tent-pole to which all future films about finding one’s identity shall be compared to.

Atomic Blonde is a decent but ultimately disappointing spy action flick that while having some generally amazing action set pieces and cinematography is let down by a pretty dumb plot and boring moments. Still, with the price of this cool looking steelbook and the fact that it’s still worth a watch, I’d def recommend picking this up.

This movie is a classic. The steelbook looks great. The only reason why anyone should have any inhibition in purchasing is if they already own the Blu-ray. Otherwise, this is simply a must own for all fans of the film.

Best action movie of 2018

While the steelbook could’ve looked somewhat cooler with a matte finish, it’s still quite the looker and you’re getting the best action movie of 2018 as well. Seriously. While the plot may be somewhat convoluted, the craftsmanship behind the action sequences and rudimentary scenes is ridiculously good. Lorne Balfe’s musical score is great and the cast, while clearly not intending to give Oscar caliber performances, genuinely sell the action and the stakes.
