Ruined by the worst subwoofer imaginable

This is an amazing set up in the mid and highs with the most pathetic subwoofer I've ever experienced in my life.
As a result, guns don't feel like guns, explosions are weak. Nothing roars (king kong? Nope) and the subtle rumble of the bass seems to be out of sync with anything after many attempts to fix any potential problems.
Vizio for half the price had a better 5.1,
And the 2 atmos speakers? That shoot up to your roof and bounce down? A bad joke.

As far as 4k HDR Blu Rays go, this certainly is better quality than a standard Blu Ray, but it didn’t blow my mind and the movie it self felt a lot less enjoyable the second time around (saw it once in theaters before buying this.)
There is an abundance of smooth faces here, perhaps to make Alita’s cgi face feel less out of place, and this gives the entire cast of characters a Gollum kind of synthetic skin feeling. The CGI world is filled with blurry edges. Everything feels soft.
Not very bad a—.
Try Apocalypse Now, Blackhawk Down, or King Kong (2005) if you want your mind blown by a 4k disc.

The amp was the only feature I liked, and yet it requires you to use the attached cable, forcing you to use the Astro headset as you can’t attach a cable that has a mic, such as a VMODA Boom Pro.
The headphones themselves are quite trash and not worth the money when you could have an incredible—-INCREDIBLE— set up with a VMODA boom pro and a set of Phillips SHP9500s (online) for the same price.

I’d like to say “you get what you pay for” but the real truth is that you are paying for convenience. The quality is remotely close to the asking price.

I just replaced this with a 2000$ LG CX OLED— which is best in a dark room— and I will say first and foremost that the difference does not feel remotely worth more than TRIPLE the price.
The gaming performance is acceptable. 60 FPS, mid range input speed that felt quite good in Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War on my XBOX Series X. I only upgraded for the 120HZ and because I could afford to.
Otherwise, this TV has done amazing on Dolby HDR through Disney+ And Netflix. Jaw dropping during Marvel movies, especially from the last few years of the Infinity saga.
But it also looks amazing on movies that aren’t over-produced neon visual feasts. Everything looks great on the TCL 6 series and before that I had a TCL 4 series which was good for the money. So I can confidently say that this is a SUBSTANTIAL upgrade from the lower TCL models and absolutely DESTROYS the similar price ranged Hisense and Vizio TVs.

This was a replacement for a much cheaper old TCL set and it was quite pathetic. It would impress someone who has had the same TV for 5 years. Otherwise, get a TCL of the same price range. There is no comparison.
The picture with any different settings is filled with artificial highlights, bleeding backlights, total lack of uniformity, and fairly noticeable input lag and a pathetic UI.

Save yourself from embarrassing audio quality and pathetic side tone implementation and buy a VMODA boom mic and a pair of Phillips SHP9500 headphones all for a similar price. There is no comparison. These are pieces of trash and once you hear something with actual good sound quality you will realize what an incredible feast for the senses you have always missed out on.
If you are still interested: These sounds better than most headsets at the similar price point. Which isn’t say much at all. They are all objectively terrible.

The movie comes with multiple discs. All different cuts of the film on Blu Ray, plus a couple cuts on 4k Blu ray, including the new “Final Cut.”
Included is also the amazing “documentary” called Hearts of Darkness which chronically the absolute insanity of the making of this film and is as good as any movie.

The picture quality is incredible. The opening scene is extremely grainy and had me feeling like a fool for buying 4k. This is quickly replaced with a constant WOW factor as the beads of sweat on every face, the glinting highlights on every reflective material, the oily water cutting through plants, all feed the senses. Often times this movie looks like it was filmed today. This is an absolutely incredible job and a master class in 4K remastering.
I have to mention one thing. The box itself is f—ing AWFUL. The single worst designed box of any disc based product I have ever seen.
It has a back cover made of thin cardboard that has 2 1 inch flaps that folds over the top edge (that reads 4k ultra hd and lists all the contents as seen above the title.) and a similar flap on the bottom edge. These are flimsy and always pointing away from the disc. The movie does not sit comfortable on a stack, and looks like garbage laying by itself or any situation where the box isnt firmly pressed between other heavy objects.
I removed this entire flappy layer, which in turn removes all of the 4K information, and leaves the case a trifold series of disc cases with absolutely NOTHING clasping it shut. It just flails around like a tablet folio case.
Other than the box, 10 out of 10 audio and video and included content.
