This laptop is absolutely fantastic. It delivers great performance for the price. There are an immense amount of reviewers claiming this unit is slow which is VERY misleading. While the bootup sequence may take about 1 minute it is by no means a slow laptop. The disclaimer however is this: Please as with any computer purchase you MUST perform all windows updates. I did run into an issue where the windows update could not be initiated. THIS is not a ASUS problem but an OS issue. Simply run troubleshooters and download the appropriate KB files once you gather your pc information. AFTER this steps are completed THEN feel free to customize your pc to your liking and download whatever files you would like. I performed everything in this sequence and have had extremely satisfactory results. There is no dire need for a SSD.

Good option for rear speakers

This is a good option if you do not want to run (and hide) wires going to your rear speakers. HOWEVER, like other reviewers have stated, there is definitely an audible buzz whenever the volume is turned to max on the powered receiver. While the simple solution would be to not turn it to max, it is virtually impossible due to its inherently low power output. IF running wires is not an option then this is a good alternative.

Amazing speakers! They have a phenomenal range and really fill rooms despite their size. These 8 inch drivers can produce enough bass where a powered sub purchase can be placed on your wishlist if you're not ready for that purchase. These speakers will really bring out every note in your music while allowing you to hear the smallest details in movies. Be careful if you are mixing these with other speakers in your surround sound setup as most speakers are not as good and many auto-tuning receivers will hamper these so as to not drown out the rest of the setup. Try these out by themselves before attaching other speakers to the setup. Best set of speakers I've owned so far!

Great set of speakers for a small room or office. They struggle to fill a medium room and simply should NOT be used in a larger room. If real estate is an issue in your living space, then these are great speakers for such a small foot print. HOWEVER be aware that a powered subwoofer is crucial in order to enjoy music or movies. Without a subwoofer they can feel extremely underpowered.
