It came with my Total Tech membership, but I didn't like it. I had the Geek Squad take it off & put on Trend Micro. Webroot was so controlling that most of my programs would not work. It seemed like this happened every time it updated. So, I prefer Trend Micro.

I've had to use this once. It came with my Total Tech membership, so how can I go wrong? I wish it could be extended. Most of my stuff THAT BROKE did so (as expected) just after the warranty expired. Bad luck! Most of the things that broke didn't really have a life expectancy beyond 2 yrs. That's why it gets 5 stars. :D

I liked Works With Windows

Works With Windows was a far better program. It had the same features but it was one program and the features were integrated flawlessly. It came with a huge book that told you what you could do with the program. You didn't need to take classes or online lessons to use all of its features.
It was also a pay-once-and-you-own-it. You could only have it on one computer at a time, but it was yours forever. (Home/student version - I don't know about the business version). I wish I still had mine. This idea of paying hundreds of dollars a year to RENT the program is just not consumer friendly.
Yes, I am old. I was in college when Works With Windows and Works FOR Windows were around. At that time, it was actually WordPerfect that was the most popular. Works was better because it had spreadsheet, database, etc. I think it totally surpassed WP when Publisher was added.
It's too expensive. I've gone to LibreOffice. It's a free opensource program with a shorter learning curve.

My latest experience was good & not-so-good. Gabriel was wonderfully business-friendly. He did a bunch of stuff on my new laptop including installing the game Ark: Survivor Evolved, which was my one reason for buying the machine. He spent a considerable amount of time with me, answering questions and making sure everything was on the new machine (the anti-virus, etc). But, when he left, it wasn't finished. I finished them because I can. I'm not sure the next person could. Windows wasn't fully updated and a bunch of drivers were still needed. Also, we thought the printer was working when he left because we were able to print out a test page. Unfortunately, the only thing we can get it to print is a test page - test pages - several of them. Nothing we send to the printer actually prints. We don't know why it prints the test pages, we are not asking for them. I will call as soon as I'm finished fixing the identity theft we have going on. :( We don't want Gabriel to get into trouble over this, just make sure he's actually done before he leaves.

I guess this is my own fault, since I somehow thought, or perhaps I assumed I'd have a 30 day return time like most things. I was going to return it and get a desktop instead. Probably liquid cooled & more expensive. The reason I bought this was to play a graphic intense game; Ark:Survivor Evolved. I wouldn't normally buy a new computer for one game. I just thought if my laptop could not maintain it's temperature with this game, it's highly unlikely I could download any new game and successfully play it. My laptop must be outdated. The only thing this laptop has that my previous laptop was shy on is a slightly better graphics card, which I was told would not overheat playing this game. I heard the "red flag" later in the conversation and let it go. After saying it would not overheat, he said any computer was going to overheat ... blah blah blah. I heard it. I even asked why I was considering buying a new laptop if it was still going to overheat. He backpaddled. I recognized it and did not pay it appropriate head. :( Now I have a $900+ laptop that is essentially the same as the one I had (the one I'm on now, in fact). And I cannot put anything on the new one except for that game because the hard drive is no bigger. It freezes like this one. The game crashes when it overheats like this one. I'm just throwing money out my moving car window to see the pile-up behind me. (Wow! That's very dark, especially for me!)
Note that I'm not recommending this laptop. It is not a bad laptop for Excel and Word... Just for ARK: Survivor Evolved. It's too small for anything ARK sized.

I cannot view the camera while away from the house. I will get notifications, but when I go to look it does nothing.
You should call Geek Squad. They can help you check your connections. Also, when we had 5 of them (plus 2 security system cameras and everything else in our home) running off the same wifi, we also had problems connecting from a distance. You may need to upgrade your home internet. If your phone drops calls, you might need a better phone service. (Geek Squad can figure that out with you).

Does your phone need to stay hooked to wifi or can it just run off your data and just the camera stays connected to wifi
The camera is attached to your home wifi and transmits to your phone over data or wifi, whichever you're in range with. We were able to see prospective buyers arrive at our home from across town and know exactly when it was safe to return home. We could also hear what they thought of the house even though they were outside and the camera was on the windowsill watching the front door. The sound was quite clear.
