A 4K set you can’t refuse.

These films are iconic, and no more needs to be said on that front.
The transfers are outstanding and the best The Godfather films have ever looked on home video. The packaging is a bit weak, but ultimately you’re picking up this set for the films, not the packaging.
In summary: a must own collection for any serious video library.
“Leave your money, take the 4K discs.”

Beautiful Steelbook

We all know Gladiator is a great movie, so I needn’t waste time writing about that aspect. The 4K transfer is excellent and a nice step up from the Blu-ray transfer.
The steelbook is a beautiful looking case and a much nicer collector piece than the standard release. It’s highly worth buying and adding to your shelf.

Great movie.
The (mostly) true story about Carol Shelby, Ken Miles and the Ford Motor company teaming up to take on Enzo Ferrari and his championship Ferrari cars in the 1966 Le Mans race, and the challenges, tensions and politics that went into the making of a championship level performance by virtue of the legendary Ford GT40 race car.
Excellent performances. Gorgeous cinematography and phenomenal sound.
This movie and Blu-ray/4K set is highly recommend.

Can I use this to watch tv primarily or just movies?

Both.

It’s geared more for movies, but it certainly has plenty of brightness to be used as regular tv using Natural or Bright Cinema modes.

Considering getting this or the 5050UB. I am going to be using it for movie viewing in 4K HDR mostly, not for gaming. Would there be a big difference between this and the 4010UB?

The 5050UB has much better contrast/blacks.

However, you must have a light controlled treated room to properly take advantage of the better black levels.

If you don’t or can’t treat your room... in other words, if your room has white walls and ceilings, then get the 4010.

If you do have darker walls and ceilings, then get the 5050UB because your room can take advantage of the better contrast and darker blacks.

Aside from that, they’re virtually identical in color, lens, and features.

The 5050 can do 4K60hz HDR, whereas the 4010 can only do 4K24hz HDR. That mostly applies to gaming.

What screen is recommended for this projector? I have heard that the screen is just as important as the projector itself, but I don't know if I am willing to drop another $1500 on the screen as per a Best Buy projector rep.

Silver Ticket Screens are the best value in projector screens.

They don’t cost too much and they’re renowned for their excellent quality and value.

They’re sold on amazon and/or through their own website.

What is the min/max throw distance and picture size at those distances? Mine will be about 25 ft away.

Projector Central.com has a screen projection calculator you can utilize to figure out the throw ratio.

Click on Throw Calculator, select the projector you’re looking to buy (4010 in this case), type in your screen size and it will give the throw distance you have to work with.

Would this be an ideal projector for outdoors and with a throw distance of approx. 27 feet across the pool?

This particular Epson projector (Home Cinema 4010) was designed more for a dedicated theater room.

Epson sells other projectors with more light capabilities that are designed specifically for outdoors.

I would look to those instead of the 4010.

can you mount this upside down?

Yes.

The projector was designed to be placed either on a shelf or mounted from the ceiling. There’s holes on the bottom of the projector, where you screw the mount on to the projector, and then the mount is attacked to a pole that hangs from the ceiling. You can look for videos online, or hire some professionals to do it for you.

It has a generous amount of lens shift, making it easy to center your image.
