Energizer batteries offer high-quality performance

Energizer batteries are much better than the Insignia brand of batteries sold by Best Buy. The Insignia brand is outright terrible. The two best brands of batteries are Energizer and Duracell. The worst batteries out there are Insignia.

Excellent Constant Transfer Rate
on March 18, 2024
Posted by: MichaelZ
Verified Purchase:Yes
This SanDisk USB Flash Drive is much faster than USB Flash Drives I've used from companies such as PNY, Teamgroup, and Silicon Power. The ones from Teamgroup and Silicon Power actually had video files transferred, which resulted in corrupted files. The Silicon Power Flash Drive even was unreadable and completely forced my Hisense U8K TV into a mode that forced the U8K TV into being frozen until a "Hard Reset" was done on the TV by using a paper click to hold down the "Reset" button on the TV.
This SanDisk USB Flash Drive has an excellent Password type of program pre-installed onto it. If you have profiles you would like to keep secure, this would help you out quite a bit.
This SanDisk USB also comes with a pre-installed format of "FAT32," even in the 128GB version I purchased. This is helpful, because Windows only allows a partition using the "FAT32" format to be created up to 32GB at a time. You can use other apps to make it so FAT32 is used to make an individual partition larger than 32GB, but it is nice that SanDisk has the entire partition as a 128GB "FAT32" partition due to the fact that a TV I use to watch a lot of movies on is only compatible with "FAT32" and is not compatible with "NTFS" or "exFAT."
This SanDisk USB Flash Drive transfers files up to 4GB in size in FAT32. The files are very smooth between 80MB/s to 100MB/s the entire time.
In comparison, the brands such as PNY, TeamGroup, and Silicon Power will be incredibly slow with wide ranges of "highs" and "lows" that go from 32MB/s down to only 2MB/s back and forth the entire time like some sort of ping pong ball. The SanDisk Flash Drive is much better and far more "constant" with the data transfer rate.

The Samsung SSD is High-Quality
on March 18, 2024
Posted by: MichaelZ
Verified Purchase:Yes
The Samsung SSD offers excellent performance. I purchased other brands from other companies. The Samsung SSD booted up the fastest - albeit by only a slight margin.
I tested my laptop with three different SSDs - each with DRAM. The SK Hynix SSD and Crucial SSD both took 18 seconds for the laptop to boot up. The Samsung SSD took 17 seconds for the laptop to boot up.
In the most technical sense the Samsung SSD offered the best performance. However, the Samsung SSD was the most expensive. At the time, I didn't mind because this was only a $5 difference for the 500GB versions of the SSD products.
However, Samsung has significantly increased the prices of their SSDs since then - especially for the 1TB and 2TB versions. Other manufacturers did not raise prices in such a way. As a result, I would personally suggest buying the other brands. There is virtually no difference in performance.

PNY Card is fine - Stay Away from Boost Phones!

The PNY Elite Micro SDHC cards work exactly the way they are supposed to. I rate the memory cards fine.
My problem is the way Best Buy refuses to provide returns after 14 days. This is absurd. And the price of Best Buy insurance is AWFUL on items such as TV sets. I no longer buy TV sets or appliances from Best Buy.
I also encourage people to stay away from Boost Mobile phone services. Boost has a 10-Day Policy that Best Buy never mentions on any receipts. If you return the Phone on "Day 11," which is within the 14-Day Best Buy Policy, you get your money back on the defective phone; however, you learn you are stuck with a subscription to Boost for 11 more months! Boost does NOT let you out of that subscription!

$25 was a Great Price to pay for Roku Streak Stick
on February 3, 2024
Posted by: MichaelZ
Verified Purchase:Yes
Roku is exactly what I needed for my TV. Comcast has continued to raise TV prices while also lowering what you receive. I was not willing or able to continue wasting money on Comcast.
I was able to get this Roku device on sale for $24.99. I see Best Buy has already raised the price to $39.99. Perhaps someone from Comcast has started working for Best Buy.
The Roku menu is easy to understand, but there needs to be a better way of adding "Favorites" to the "Favorites" Menu. The way things are now, you painstakingly must at the channels one at a time in a way that takes about 20 seconds per channel. In comparison, Google TV has it so you simply click "Enter" to add the channel as a "Favorite." I wish Roku would do that.
Roku has a channel for virtually everything. There is a channel that is all Twilight Zone episodes, a channel that is all Outer Limit episodes, a channel that is all Star Trek episodes, a channel that is all Ice Road Truckers, a channel that is all Transformers, a channel that is all Three's Company. There are HUNDREDS of channels like this! It is excellent.
The channels are set up so you watch the channels for free, with commercials. Sort of like how you "pay" for Comcast in order to watch TV channels with commercials. Obviously Roku is a superior service.
You can also download other "apps" for additional channels that might be available.
You can even watch your Local News and listen to all sorts of Music Channels and Music Video channels if you wanted to.
I could never get any TV Antenna to work in the kitchen area of our home. We connected a Roku Streaming Stick to this TV. Now people go to the kitchen to watch TV during times when the living room is being used for something like a movie or news.

Good TV, but Poor Service from Best Buy - as usual
on February 3, 2024
Posted by: MichaelZ
This LG TV set had very good visual quality for its price. But, there are two fundamental reasons I'm rating this TV with the score of only a 3 out of 5.
First, the legs are at the end of the TV and are not adjustable. Whoever came up with the idea of putting legs on the outside of these LARGE and WIDE TV sets needs to be FIRED!
Most TV stands DO NOT have the width needed to properly work with a TV set that has legs on the outside. My TV stand actually "wide" enough, but the TV stand has a 45-degree angle so the TV stand gets thinner towards the outside. As a result, the TV stand is not "deep" enough at the "outside" - which is where the legs of the TV set are.
TV companies need to had "adjustable legs" in multiple spots. And TV companies should also be using a "base" in the middle. That is where the support of the TV should be.
Second, Best Buy repeatedly told me this TV set would be delivered. But every time the TV set was supposed to be delivered, the TV never arrived! We would call Best Buy and we would repeatedly be told, "The TV must not have been on the delivery truck."
This failure with deliveries went on for an entire year! Eventually Best Buy called to say, "We must cancel this TV order, because we no longer have the TV in stock."
This was even more annoying, because the TV was purchased with a 10% Birthday Coupon that saved a LOT of money! Best Buy would then NOT honor that coupon on the next TV set we tried to purchase!

Excellent Headphones for Excellent Value
on February 3, 2024
Posted by: MichaelZ
Verified Purchase:Yes
Excellent headphones for an excellent price. 25 years ago, I had several people tell me, "The most overpriced items you will ever see are 'Speakers.'" Those people were correct.
Headphones are the exact same way. It is absurd the way companies such as Bose and others was literally THIRTY times as much money as Sony for their headphones. Read the reviews and you clearly see people say there is no noticeable different in quality between the inexpensive headphones from various manufacturers and the expensive headphones.
I learned this same lesson with electric razors. I first bought an electric razor for $30. I then bought one for $100. It was at that point when I realized the quality was the same. Both of them simply cut hair. The way companies now want $300 for electric razors is absurd. Those cheap ones for $30 are just as good.
It would be nice if Sony charged good prices like this on their TV sets. Now I just buy other brands that cost a lot less and actually offer better performance than Sony.

Half dark screen problem
By EricG
Honestly, I'm giving two stars instead of one because the tv looks great watching movies, playing ps5, and anything else. My problem is I bought the tv in August and I had to have it replaced in October because half the screen was darker then the other half. The new tv was put up and installed by geek squad I thought easy fix. Here we are a month and a day since I got the replacement tv and the exact same thing happened again. I guess I just got unlucky maybe but now I'll have to deal with best buy and get another tv and wait a week before I get another one.

Best Buy did NOT replace my Hisense U8K
November 23, 2023
I bought the Hisense U8K 75" version. The number of technical glitches is TERRIBLE. My TV had the exact same problems you have described - and many others. For example, the USB input allows you to play movies when the card is formatted in NTFS mode. However, if you watch the movie for a certain length of time and expect to come back and finish watching the movie after watching the news or watching the movie the next day, you will see a HUGE problem. When you push either "Play" or "OK" on the remote control in order to start watching the movie again, the movie will play for about one-tenth of a second, and then automatically shut itself off. This is TERRIBLE.
Another problem is if you try to play mp4 or mkv movies that do not include Subtitles, after a while you will randomly see the "Chapter" number pop up. I have this on video. There is nothing on the screen, and then suddenly you see "Chapter 5." The words "Chapter 5" then stay on the screen the entire time, until it changes to "Chapter 6." Then you see "Chapter 6" the entire time until "Chapter 7" is visible. The only way to get rid of this is if you select "Menu," and then turn "Subtitles" Off, even though that is not technically a "Subtitle." The problem is when you watch an MKV move that actually does have Subtitles. The "Chapter" words would be visible OVER the actual "Subtitles" that are meant to be seen!!!
Another glitch is with movies that were ripped into the resolution of 1280x720p that included the aspect ratio of 2.35:1 with black bars at the top and bottom. When you watch these movies with the USB card, the Hisense U8K always "Stretches" the movie vertically in all settings - which is NOT the way the movies were originally meant to be seen. This causes the movies to look TERRIBLE. For example, a "Circle" because an "Elliptical" on the screen, and does NOT look normal.
Another glitch is that when you leave a USB card in the Hisense U8K with the intent of watching movies the next day, you will notice that when you turn the Power button "On," the TV will say, "Ejecting USB Device." That is STUPID. Why in the world would I want the USB Device "Ejected" when I am turning the Power "On" with the intent to watch movies. Ironically, the USB device is still selectable as an "Input," even though the TV just told you the USB card was just "Ejected." But, don't count on watching any movie you have previously tried to watch. The FIRST time you watch a movie, the TV will allow you to watch the movie. But AFTER THAT, you will only see the movie for about one-tenth of a second before the TV turns the movie off.
Another glitch was very severe. I have no idea why it occurred. I have a large 256GB USB 3.0 card from a company called Silicon Power. Multiple PCs confirmed there is nothing wrong with this USB card, and there are no errors. The device is formatted in NTFS. I connected the USB card to the TV, and then suddenly I got a message telling me, "Android Error. Your USB card may contain data that is corrupt." The options on the screen said, "Try Again, Press Any Button" and "To Do a System Restart, Hold Any Button." ... Fair enough. ... The problem is, NO BUTTON WORKED AT ALL!!! ... This message was STUCK ON THE SCREEN!!!
I eventually decided to unplug the AC Adapter from the TV in order to do a "Soft Reset." I waited a few minutes before plugging the TV back in. But when I plugged the TV back in, this "Error" message was still on the screen!
I then needed to do TWO HOURS of research online before I found out how to do the "Hard Reset" for the U8K. On the back of the TV near the HDMI Inputs, there is a small hole that says "Reset." If you insert a paperclip into this hole and press it for several seconds, there will be a "Hard Reset" done to put every setting back to the original specifications of the manufacturer. This removed the "Android Error" message from the screen; however, the other errors I spoke of continued to exist.
There are also many other errors, such as the fact that the eARC/ARC channel does NOT work properly on HDMI Input 3. The TV refuses to allow you to select "eARC/ARC" as the Sound Output if you select "Enhanced" on HDMI Input 3. You can only select "TV Speakers" or "Optical." The choice of "ARC" is NOT selectable. If you change TV Input 3 from "Enhanced" to either "Standard" or "Auto," the TV will suddenly allow "HDMI ARC" to be selected so you can press "Home" and listen to things such as YouTube and Netflix as a Sound Output.
Another error was virtually unbelievable, but it happened. On Comcast, when I would select the "XFinity" button, the Comcast menu on the screen would initially say "Guide." There were no problems. I would then press the "right" arrow so the Comcast menu on the screen would then say "Saved." I would then press the "right" arro so the Comcast menu on the screen would then say, "On Demand." At that point, the HDMI Input 3 of the U8K TV would stop working. I would suddenly see a message from the U8K TV that said, "No Signal or Weak Signal. Check Your HDMI Connections."
This would happen EVERY time the "On Demand" option was selected. Initially, the only way I found to cause this message from the TV to go away was to unplug the HDMI cable, and then plug the HDMI cable back in to the TV. When I would do this, Comcast would be fine and the DVR would still be "On Demand." I later found ways around this - all of which were very annoying.
For example, I found if you press "Input" on the TV remote control in order to select a "Different" Input, and then come back to the Input of TV Input 3, the message saying, "No Signal or Weak Signal. Check Your HDMI Connections" was gone. The screen would again be saying, "On Demand." Then, just for the heck of it, I decided to select "HDMI Input 3," even though the TV was already on HDMI Input 3. When I did this, the screen message saying, "No Signal or Weak Signal. Check Your HDMI Connections" disappeared and I could once again see "On Demand." This indisputably confirmed the problem was a technical glitch in the Hisense TV. People should NOT have to press the "Input" button on the TV remote control every time the Comcast remote control reaches the option of "On Demand."
I then tested the TV with different HDMI cables that were fully certified and shorter distances. The exact same problems occurred. There is no doubt the HDMI cables are NOT the cause of these problems.
At a later point in time, the problems with the Comcast incompatibility stopped taking place. Comcast has Firmware Updates on a daily basis. I'm wondering if one of my reports to Comcast Technical Support is the reason why this particular glitch stopped taking place. Hisense needs to release Firmware Updates to fix the other problems I have described, too.
Best Buy absolutely REFUSED to either "Exchange" this TV or do any form of "Refund" or "Store Credit." I told Best Buy "Store Credit" would be fine. I just want a DIFFERENT type of TV, because this TV is TERRIBLE the way it doesn't even let me play USB movies!!!
The initial person I spoke with from Best Buy said, "I would be glad to give you store credit." But when she put me on hold, she came back saying "The team at Geek Squad will not allow this Return or Exchange." I was then told my problem would be "Escalated" and I would receive a return call from "Corporate Best Buy." I got the phone call the next day; however, I wish I hadn't, because the Best Buy Corporate representative was so rude.
An incredibly RUDE woman named "Helena" told me I was NOT going to be allowed to Return or Exchange the Hisense TV set. I asked to speak to the Supervisor of Helena, but Helena said, "I don't have a Supervisor; I am Best Buy Corporate." I said, "So you are in Minnesota?" But Helena did not respond to that. I said, "Well, I guess I will need to take this matter to the Board of Best Buy Corporate." Helena then hung up on me. For the record, I have that entire conversation on audio recording. I never swore, I never raised my voice, and I was 100% professional the entire time.
BOTTOM LINE: I am never going to purchase another produce from Best Buy again. I'm not even using this Best Buy Visa Credit Card anymore, because I don't want those "Rewards" that expire anyways.
The hypocrisy from Best Buy is terrible. I never would have needed to buy this U8K TV if Best Buy would have simply "Delivered" the LG TV I ordered over a year ago. For an entire YEAR, I would be told, "Your LG TV is scheduled for Delivery." I waited home with my family all day on each day of scheduled delivery, but Best Buy would never show up. Every time this happened, I would call Best Buy and say, "Why did you not deliver the TV?" I was always told, "The TV must not have been on the truck. We will need to schedule a new date for Delivery." This happened MANY TIMES!!! Eventually, after an ENTIRE YEAR, Best Buy called and said, "That product is no longer in stock, so we need to cancel the order."
Even after I went through a YEAR of waiting on Best Buy to deliver the LG TV set, I end up hearing from Best Buy, "We are NOT going to Exchange this Hisense TV or give Store Credit at Best Buy."

Why does Hisense make it so the eArc input uses one of the two HDMI 2.1 inputs, even though this prevents the TV from being compatible with two gaming devices such as an Xbox and PC; in comparison TCL has two HDMI 2.1 inputs and eArc on a separate input?

Find a reliable storage solution for large files with this WD easystore external desktop hard drive. The USB 3.0 interface and backward-compatibility with USB 2.0 offer broad connectivity, while the automatic backup solution reduces the risk of data loss. This WD easystore external desktop hard drive features a 14TB capacity to provide ample space for videos and photos.

Why is Best Buy charging so much for these hard drives now; I was able to get the 14TB one for $180 last fall and now it is $240; that is insane?

Does the QM8 USB port play mp4 and mkv video files that use the audio formats of AC3 (Dolby Digital), DTS, and PCM Lossless? Your other answer points out the format of AAC is supported. But what about AC3, PCM, and DTS for the h.264 mp4 and mkv?

Peak brightness?

If the Peak Brightness with the Contrast and Brightness turned to their maximum seetings is only 1,000 nits, I suggest not buying this TV. I say this because I own a Hisense U8K 75" TV and the HDR movies are far too dark - even when I turn the Peak Brightness and Local Dimming settings to "High" and set Brightness and Contast to the maximum setting of "100." The SDR versions of the movies in 1080p with a high bitrate simply look better than the HDR versions in 4K that are simply too "dark." I believe the Hisense U8K is capable of 1,500 nits. I'm not a fan of HDR because it is far too dark.

In a review comparing TV sets from TCL, Hisense, and Sony, the reviewer said all of them had "Terrible Viewing Angles" the moment you move to the side; why does TCL use a VA panel known for poor viewing angles rather than an IPS panel for good angles?

The VA panels are TERRIBLE! The ONLY time you should buy a VA panels is if you are sitting 100% directly in front of the center of the TV. The moment you start to move to the side, the "Blue" colors start to turn into "Aqua Green," and then eventually "Green." It is AWFUL!

The IPS panels have EXCELLENT viewing angles - just like a picture tube TV. The IPS panels of the past had contrast ratios inferior to VA panels. The VA panels had darker blacks, while the IPS panels had brighter blacks. However, the "Mini-LED" technology used by the newest generation of TCL and Hisense TV sets make it so even an IPS panel can have incredibly dark blacks - almost as black as an OLED TV.

The bad thing is all the TCL and Hisense TV sets with Mini-LED technology use VA Panels - except for the 75" version of the U8K from Hisense. I bought the U8K because it has excellent IPS viewing angles plus the excellent dark blacks from the Mini-LED technology.

The problem with the U8K is it is TERRIBLE from all the technical glitches. The review on RTINGS says, "The TV can be buggy at times." That is like saying, "A Hydrogen Bomb can get warm at times." It is a severe understatement.

The Hisense U8K is virtually always buggy. The RTINGS review says Hisense is aware of the problems and is working on firmware updates. I bought that TV in August of 2023. But it is now March of 2024 and there are still no firmware updates. Hisense has told me on the phone no firmware updates are planned to fix the problems I have.

For example, the USB input does NOT allow mp4 or mkv movies to be played properly. You can watch a movie ONE time. However, if you stop the movie, and then change the input or turn the TV off, you will NOT be allowed to watch that movie again! The glitch of the TV will make it so the moment you press, "Play," the video plays for about one second of time, and then turns itself off. The ONLY thing you can do about this is to unplug the USB card, and then plug it back in! This glitch makes that feature of the Hisense U8K worthless.

Similarly, the U8K does not properly work with "Enhanced Viewing." There are a countless number of audio glitches and video glitches. "Passthrough" sound mode does NOT work.

My suggestion would be to avoid the Hisense U8K 75" because of the glitches. I would also suggest avoiding all VA panels. My overall advice would be to wait for the 2024 models. Also, do NOT buy from Best Buy, because the price for insurance is INSANE. You can buy FOUR YEARS of insurance from Amazon for the same price as Two Years of Insurance from Best Buy.

Why does my Hisense U8K not allow the ARC channel to send sound from the TV to the A/V Receiver? Input 3 eArc/Arc is connected to ARC on the A/V Receiver. I see video. But NOTHING allows audio from the Hisense TV to be heard from Onkyo TX-NR5009. Why?

Thank you for the suggestion. In the reviews for the U8K, they list the "pro" and "con" aspects of the TV. One of the "cons" for the U8K TV was how it is "very buggy." Hisense NEEDS to fix these "bugs" and technical glitches. The only way the eARC/ARC Input 3 will work for HIDMI Audio is if the Input 3 is set to either "Standard" or "Auto." If Input 3 is set to "Enhanced," the eARC/ARC will definitely not allow "HDMI" to be used for "Audio." Instead, "Audio" can only be output from the "TV Speakers" or from the "Optical" out. It truly is TERRIBLE that companies don't simply release some form of HDMI "Splitter" that can send the "Video" signal to the TV and the "Audio" signal to the A/V Receiver.

Start your system in seconds, store up to 2TB of your irreplaceable files, and upgrade with a drive you can count on. Improve your system with the Crucial~ MX500 2TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD, an SSD built on quality, speed, and security that~s all backed by helpful service and support. It~s worth it.

Yesterday, I bought MX500 2TB internal SSD SATA, but I couldn't connect it with my laptop without a window. Could I bring it to Best Buy to help me to do it?

No matter what happens, DO NOT take your product to the "Best Buy Geek Squad." The Geek Squad is BY FAR the BIGGEST WASTE of money - even for easy tasks that take a very small amount of time and effort.

First, go to the Amazon website to purchase this product that connects a USB 3.0 input with this SATA III SSD. You can also search for the following product: "SABRENT USB 3.0 to SSD." Here is a link to that product:

https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-2-5-Inch-Adapter-Optimized-EC-SSHD/dp/B011M8YACM/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=U7BZU9FTPFVI&keywords=usb+to+sata+adapter&qid=1700788005&sprefix=usb+to+sata+%2Caps%2C563&sr=8-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1

You will also need to use an excellent free "Cloning" form of software. I have used one from "Macrium" called "Reflect 8 Home" many times." Here is the link you will need:

https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree

You can also use an excellent program called AOMEI. One potential problem whenever you "Clone" a smaller form of disk drive to a larger form of disk drive is the cloning software may create two different partitions. AOMEI software will help you to unite the partitions into one SSD. You can read about that here:

https://www.aomeitech.com/kb/backupper/cant-use-full-ssd-capacity-after-cloning.html

Here is the link to download AOMEI for free:

https://www.aomeitech.com/download.html

For the record, the reason I'm helping this person out so much is because I'm doing everything possible to make sure I cheat Best Buy Geek Squad out of stealing money from another person. It was TERRIBLE the way Best Buy REFUSED to allow me to at least have "Store Credit" for that piece of junk Hisense U8K that doesn't even play USB movies properly or allow audio to come from the eARC/ARC channel properly.

As the saying goes, "The satisfied customer tells his friends, while the unsatisfied customers tells everyone."

In another Question, Hisense answered me by saying the reason my SDXC card isn't recognized is because it must be formatted in FAT32. Do USB cards and Hard Drives also need to be in FAT32? If so, it means Best Buy LIED by telling me NTFS would work.

Just so everyone knows, there appears to be TWO answers. The first answer is for "Movies and Music." The Hisense U8K does work with a USB card formatted in NTFS. However, there are MANY glitches with the U8K.

For example, when you play a USB card with movies, the "First" time you watch a movie, it is fine. However, when you stop the movie you will have SEVERE problems when you try to watch the movie again. If you turn off the movie to watch another movie or the news or some Cable TV, you will think, "I will just pick up watching this USB movie where I left off." But, that is NOT what will happen. Instead, the INSTANT you press either "Play" or "OK" in order to watch the movie on your USB card, the movie will STOP playing. "Other" movies you have not yet watched will be playable, but NOT the movies you have previously watched. This is an obvious technical glitch that needs to be fixed with some sort of Firmware Update.

This same type of glitch occurs when you are watching the TV with a USB card inside it. You will get a message when you turn the TV back on saying, "Ejecting USB," even though the USB card is still inside the TV - just as you want it to be! The selection for the USB card will still be there, BUT there will be SEVERE GLITCHES like I mentioned in the paragraph above.

For example, ANY movie you attempt to watch that does not have "Subtitles" will still cause you to see "Chapters." For example, at some random point in the movie, you will see "Chapter 5" and it will stay on the screen for the entire time until you see "Chapter 6." And that will be on the screen the entire time until "Chapter 7" appears. I have found if you press "Menu" and turn the "Subtitles" off, it will remove these displays of "Chapters" that originally did not appear yet appeared randomly on their own. However, it is VERY ANNOYING this occurs. I also am disturbed that this display of "Chapters" will prevent people from seeing "Subtitles" when there actually is a movie with "Subtitles" that need to be on.

People should know, when there are Firmware Updates, the USB card MUST BE in the format of FAT32.

Also, when you try watching movies on your USB card that used apps to compress the files, if the files have a resolution of 1280x720p but had the original "Aspect Ratio" of 2:35:1 with black bars at the top and bottom, the movie will now be "Stretched" vertically so the movie looks weird.

The reason for this is because when watching a movie from the USB card there are ONLY THREE options available for "Zoom" In comparison, when watching a movie from any other method using the regular "Menu," there are many "Zooms" available - including "21:9" - which would solve the problem of having black bars at the top and bottom. For some reason that Zoom option is NOT available when watching from USB movies or TV shows.

The only "Zoom" options are "Fit" and "Full" and "Original." When you try watching a 1280x720p movie with "Original," you see only a 12.5% size tiny image on the screen. Both "Full" and "Fit" look identical - being "Stretched" vertically.

Hisense, PLEASE correct this problem with movies played from a USB card by using some form of Firmware Update.

For the record, I tried watching a compressed movie that originally had the "Resolution" of 1920x1080p and the original "Aspect Ratio" of 2.35:1. This movie was cropped with an app so it had a resolution of 1920x800p. When using the "Fit" mode, it was stretched vertically and looked weird - as expected. However, when using the "Full"

Unfortunately, I can no longer watch that movie called "Fast X" at all. And I cannot watch "The Flash" at all. And I cannot watch "Watchmen" at all. I cannot watch "A Bad Mom's Christmas" at all. The reason for this is because each of them was in the middle of being watched when I stopped to watch the News on TV or I turned the TV off with the intent to watch the movie again at a later point in time. Sadly, this worthless Hisense U8K has a GLITCH where ANY movie you watch and then come back to in such a way shuts off INSTANTLY after about one-tenth of a second. NOTHING can be done to get the movies to play again.

This is SO DISAPPOINTING. This is the entire reason why Hisense costs so much less than LG, Samsung, and Sony. The Hisense TV simply DOES NOT WORK! And the arrogant staff at Best Buy refuses to give any type of refund or store credit in order to simply get a different model of TV.

The Award-winning Hisense U8 Series Mini-LED TV just got even better. And, be2er also just got bigger with the U8H now available in an 85~ screen size.

Why is the Hisense U8 2023 75" so much more expensive than the 2022 75"? The reason people were interested in the 2022 U8H 75" was because it was $1499 and now is $1399. The 2023 75" U8 is over 50% more expensive. Will Hisense lower 2023 U8 prices?

You are correct regarding the "Price Gouging." But, there is no doubt the U8K is NOT going to be as "popular" as the U8H for two reasons.

First, the U8H won all the competitions in 2022 regarding "Value TV" sets. The U8H was always the "Brightest" in the competitions. And all the TV sets in that price range had a TV panel using the "8-Bit plus FRC" type of panel. It is NOT like that in 2023.

In 2023, the U8K is losing all the competitions. The U8K is NOT the "Brightest" of the TV sets in that price range. For example, TCL offers a less expensive TV that has a TV panel using a far more advanced "True 10-Bit" type of panel.

Second, the U8K simply is not worthy to be selling at that price point. The U8K doesn't even let you have two consoles hooked up at the same time, because its eArc uses one of the two HDMI 2.1 inputs. That is DUMB. The only company that seems to understand that eArc needs to be on a different input is TCL.

I now know from a comparison on YouTube between the Hisense U8K and the TCL QM8 that the Hisense U8K uses a disappointing "8-Bit plus FRC" type of Panel to "Simulate" the 10-Bit HDR technology.

In comparison, the TCL QM8 uses a "True 10-Bit" type of Panel and "Truly" displays the 10-Bit HDR technology.

The comparison on YouTube made it clear the TCL TV was the winner and had a far more impressive panel.

Is this U8K 8 bit or 10 bit?

SandyC, it now seems obvious why Hisense does not want to answer you questions or other question. I have learned on YouTube in a comparison of TV sets that the Hisense U8K Panel uses a disappointing "8-Bit plus FRC" type of Panel. In comparison, the TCL QM8 uses a "True 10-Bit" type of Panel.

This means Hisense U8K will do a disappointing type of job "Simulating" HDR content, while the TCL QM8 will "Truly" be able to display the HDR content without losing any colors.

Is this U8K 8 bit or 10 bit?

Hisense is doing a TERRIBLE job of "Answering" Questions that are asked so far, as of June 16, 2023. What is even worse was the entire reason "why" people were interested in the 2022 model called the U8H was because of its price of $1,500 (now selling for $1400). This 2023 model called U8K is selling for the TERRIBLE price of $2,200. And what is even worse is it appears the 2023 model uses the same outdated panel technology called "8-Bit + FRC" rather than the "True 10-Bit" technology that is needed to display HDR and simulate Dolby Vision without a "Rainbow Effect" problem.

The Award-winning Hisense U8 Series Mini-LED TV just got even better. With Peak Brightness 1500 and more than double the local dimming zones as last year, along with Quantum Dot Color, Dolby Vision HDR, and Low Reflecton panel technology, the U8 delivers unmatched brightness, contrast and detail. And, with Dolby Atmos and an upgraded 50w 2.1.2 multi-channel audio system, the U8 creates an immersive cinema experience in your home. In additon, the U8 is compatible with the new Wifi 6E router protocol and includes a NEXTGEN TV ATSC 3.0 tuner making the U8 virtually future-proof. With the Google TV OS and Hands-Free Voice Control, searching for and playing all your favorite content is simple and seamless. Just say ~Hey Google~. The U8 also got more upgrades for the gaming enthusiast including a 144Hz VRR panel, Dolby Vision Gaming and FreeSync Premium Pro for an enhanced gaming experience. And, be2er also just got bigger with the U8H now available in an 85~ screen size.

Does the 2023 U8 75" TV in America use a VA Panel or does it use an IPS Panel? What are the Viewing Ranges from the Side Angles and the Top-Down Angles?

Harley from Hisense, you didn't answer my question at all. Yet you say, "If you have any other questions, call this number." I appreciate you giving me the number, but the problem is you didn't even mention this question all.
