A slow burn that leads to an out-of-control fire!

This movie was so well done!
GREAT acting by the lead actor, Joaquin Phoenix, VERY good soundtrack, well thought out sets, and a script that does a great job exploring a possible origin for the Joker.
Keep in mind that this is not a DC Superhero/Marvel Superhero or John Wick type fight/smash/beat-em-up/fast-action movie. I mention this because of the people I talked to that watched the movie, the few who didn't like it always mentioned the same thing..."it was boring, not a lot happened."
This movie is a slow burn. This is an exploration of (and maybe an insight into) one character's progress from a no-name, basically unwanted and unloved individual into an individual who will be known far and wide in the DC comics universe.
Aside from an exploration into a well-known DC comics villain, this movie also reveals real-world problems and shows how these real-world problems can negatively affect individual people and the societies they live in.
Overall, this movie is a must see if you like DC comics characters, if you like watching a really good character progression and exploration, or if you just want to watch an actor completely own the character he/she is portraying.
Don't expect non-stop action.
Do expect a slow burn that builds up into a final explosion!

Good movie, poor ending.

Overall, this is a good addition to any Marvel collection. The visual/special effects were very good, and the 4 main actors did really well in their roles.
The reason I gave this a 4 out of 5 was because of the actors and the visual look of the film. Unfortunately, it does have a somewhat weak ending.
During the majority of the movie, you have the main "bad guy", Mads Mikkelsen causing problems for/fighting with the main "good guy", Benedict Cumberbatch, and at the end of the movie, where there should have been a showdown/final resolution between the two, a 3rd party gets involved and Mads Mikkelsen just goes away.
The showdown builds up, and builds up, and builds up, and then...you get left with..."wait...what?...that's it?"
Had it not been for the good acting performances and really good visual effects, and the intro of a new (and will be recurring) character, I would have given the movie a 3 out of 5.

This is a good set for those that are looking to add or complete their Marvel movie collection.
The first movie in this collection, First Class, was a great introduction to the new cast showing various X-Men characters becoming the X-Men under the leadership of both Charles Xavier (Professor X) and Eric Lehnsherr (Magneto).
All of the actors did a really good job portraying their respective characters, so I highly recommend this movie.
The second movie in this series, Days of Future Past, was a truly remarkable story line that starts with the X-Men and other mutants living in a world which has hunted down and killed almost every mutant to include the X-Men themselves. The story covers a plan to send one of the X-Men back in time to try to prevent the actions that resulted in their fatalistic future. Like the first movie, this movie had a very good plot and wonderful acting.
The last movie in this series, Apocalypse, might be the weakest in the series, but it carries over most of the previous cast of the first two, and introduces other X-Men characters such as Storm, Angel, Psylocke, and Nightcrawler. To be honest, this isn't one of my favorite X-Men movies, but I still like the idea of the storyline and there is still some good acting performances in it.
Overall, this box set is a worthy addition to your Marvel or even just your X-Men collection.

I purchased this item because the DVD drive in my laptop quit working, and there are times when I don't have access to internet to be able to stream movies. I tried using 3 different DVD player download apps for my computer. They all acknowledged that a DVD was in the DVD drive, but none of them would then actually play the DVD.
I purchased this item, and together with a free download of VLC Media Player, I can again watch DVD's on this computer.

I have many Studio Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki movies. I love all of them...except maybe this one.
Don't get me wrong, this movie is still a wonderfully made movie with a really good story to it, but unlike some of the other Studio Ghibli/Miyazaki movies, this one is mainly just for kids.
Other Ghibli/Miyazaki productions such as Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind do "star" children/young adults, but these movies have more adult-type themes to them that older audiences can enjoy as well.
This specific movie, My Neighbor Totoro, really deals with the story of how two very young girls are dealing with their mother not being at home with them because she is stuck in a hospital for an extended time for some unknown reason.
It's a decent story, but outside of huge anime fans, if you're over the age of 14 or if you aren't experiencing having a parent having to spend an extended stay in a hospital, there's not that much to keep your attention.
Keep in mind that this is just my opinion, but I'm being completely honest when I say that unlike all the other Ghibli/Miyazaki movies I have, this one is not going to be getting a repeated viewing unless I've got a certain young girl on the couch next to me demanding to watch this one again.

Three things to talk about...
1) I've never read the books, so I can't make comparisons between the manga (books) and the anime (movie).
2) The Steelbook itself... The case is very well put together, it is a clam-shell type case that has a beautiful matte red finish, which makes it easy to clean and keep free of fingerprints and dust.
3) The movie itself... This is another wonderful movie from Miyazaki through Studio Ghibli. It has a truly moving plot with great character development throughout the movie. Miyazaki movies are known for character development, and this movie truly showcases how the two main characters grow, develop, and change through the movie.
I would highly recommend this movie to those who love anime, as well as for those who have never experienced anime, and for those who like strong, well-developed characters in their movies.

I needed a 4K/UHD receiver to upgrade to a 5.1 Home Theater System. After considering what my budget could allow (after purchasing the 4K/UHD TV and 4K/UHD Blu-ray player, I looked into the possible choices and this model was the one I chose.
I had no problems in changing out the old receiver and putting this one into service. The input/output connections were easy to get to and use, and the pre-set FM stations work great. The only thing I have not tried yet is the included mic which will sense the output of all your speakers and automatically adjust the sound from the speakers to get the best Home Theater sound from. I haven't done this yet because I still needed to add the subwoofer (just bought yesterday) and the center speaker (buying later this week). Everything else has been easy to use and worked right out of the box.

This TV has been a nice upgrade for a new home theater experience featuring 4K.
The only drawback this TV has is that all the inputs are located on the far left side of the TV instead of being more centrally located.

I just received this game and opened the box up this morning. Is this game supposed to come with a game manual, or does the box just have ONLY the game disc inside?

With 115W maximum power and a 10" dual-layer mica woofer diaphragm, this Sony Core Series SACS9 active subwoofer produces robust, detailed bass tones. Motion feedback technology promotes optimal signal clarity.
Is the subwoofer ready to play a high volume or does it need to be "broken in"? If it does what is your suggestions and for how long?
I started playing my subwoofer at medium volume for the first couple of days as I really wasn't needing to blast out sound.
The subwoofer performed nicely.
About a few days later, I was playing a movie using this subwoofer as a 5.1 system, and had the bass rattling the walls.
So, you might want to give it a couple of days starting off low to medium just to make sure that the speaker is working, and that you like the placement of where you put it in your room as far as acoustics are concerned. After you are comfortable that the speaker is working fine, and you like the placement, go ahead and blast away.
I'm not saying you HAVE TO wait a couple of days, the only reason I did was that I really didn't need or want anything quite that loud during the first few days I had it.

I bought this sub to connect to a Sony STR DH-590 Receiver but I’m getting no bass sound? Don’t know what I have connected wrong?
Check the wiring running to all your other speakers and ensure all the other speakers are playing. If the other speakers are working fine, then check the line running from your receiver to the bass. I am using an Insignia 15' Subwoofer cable to connect my receiver to my Core Series 10" bass. Check to make sure you have a solid connection. After checking all wires and speakers for connectivity, make sure you turn the bass itself on. The Sony Core Series 10" has its own power switch located on the back of the speaker near the bottom (its a push button switch). You'll know its on when you see a green light appear on top of the bass near the rear next to the vents. If you have the receiver connected correctly to the bass, AND you have the power switch on the bass pressed in and you see NO light on top of the bass, you have a power problem with the bass and you will need to get it fixed or turn it back in. If you have everything connected correctly, you DO have the power switch on the back of the bass pressed, and you DO see a green light on top of the bass but still have NO sound, you have a blown speaker in that subwoofer.

I have read the following on a different site, is this true?: If you are using a dvd player to play cd's you can't play the CD through this system without turning on the tv.
Not true at all. I actually hadn't tried this yet, as I've been jamming to local radio stations ,but as soon as I read your question, I put in a CD into my CD/DVD player and I'm currently jamming out to Led Zep WITHOUT the tv being on. I ran my audio out from my cd/dvd player into the BD/DVD audio input into the receiver and everything's working great...and the tv is OFF.

can i connect to in ceileing speakers 2 in my living room 2 in my kitchen and 1 in my nook dinning room, and do i need othet accesories besides speakers and cables ?
Hughes, you should be able to hook up these speakers using just the speakers and cables.
I've got 4 different speakers hooked up to this receiver using only 2 of the connections on the back of the receiver, leaving 2 more connections open and available for 2 more main speakers.
