This is a pretty good radar, which it should be for the price. I had the R4 before this and this was just as good. The reason I upgraded is because one of the speakers on the R4 went out and it was even more annoying.
Reasons for the 1 star review: (1) this thing has more false alerts than any radar detector I have owned, which includes these two Unidens and couple top of the line Escorts. (2) You may ask, well why don't you just turn K band off? Well, I did, and it didn't work. So I emailed Uniden and they want me to send it it on my dime to get the K band off. Also, whenever there is two k bands going off in different directions, it makes the most obnoxious sound that scares me and the people sitting in my car. It's embarrassing really. (3) There is a trailing K band nearly every time I drive (which I automuted) but it still creates the horrible sound if another k band goes off while trailing k band is on but muted. I don't know why there is a trailing k band in the first place. (4) This radar detector DOES NOT pick up manual radar gun signals. I've been popped twice by cops out of their cars with their radar guns (I live in Dallas and this is the primary speed trap mechanism because most of the police cruisers don't have built in radar). (5) The customer service is abysmal. I emailed them about all of these problems and since I have had it more than 1 year (14 months), I have to ship it and pay for repairs on my own dime after paying $700 for this thing. (6) THE SPEAKER WENT OUT ON MY R8 TOO, after just over a year, and I bet it is because alllllllllllllllllllll of the false alerts.
Moral of the story, I'm going back to Escort and am going to throw this R8 out the window one day when it angers me enough.

Great amp, but can't use banana plugs?

Great amp, does everything I need to power speakers all over house and outside by pool but it doesn't take banana plugs so I have to deal with shoving the stupid speaker wire in the back of the amp like it's 1995. Looks unprofessional and messy. Tried for hours to figure out how to use banana plugs because some Yamaha and other brand amps you can pop out the little rubber part of the line plug in to use bananas. Not with this one. So, if you want to be able to use banana plugs, this amp is not for you. And I wish I would have known that ahead of time.

Best of the cheap TVS

I now own two TCL tvs, one as a guest bedroom tv and this 49" that I have on my outdoor patio. I diligently researched and viewed all of the cheap TVs (because it was for outdoor use) and I am a firm believer that TCL has hit the nail on the head with their value. TCL has the best picture of the cheap tv's and it is extremely nice having the built-in roku. I was actually at restaurant/bar at the Toyota music factory recently and was watching their tvs and was impressed with the picture of them, sure enough, they were TCLs.

I like these. People complain about the battery life which gave me pause, but my camera outside has been up outside and on consistently for about a month now and is at 51%. I also live on a culdesac which apparently gets a lot of traffic. App easy to use, install couldn’t be simpler.
