Setup was difficult with Android 8.0 so I did what Canary support suggested was to try to set up with an older phone or tablet and it worked with a older phone. It seems the Canary app need to be updated to work with newer phones it might just be old stock the problem is it can't update the firmware until you've set it up and connected to your WiFi so your going to have to use an older device to setup. Now it works on the newer phone after I set it up so I never get rid of older devices just in case I need to use.

Affordable Way To Share Files.

It's a whole lot better than paying monthly fees for cloud storage.
The My Home Cloud has fewer features than the My Cloud it don't have an interface and can only be accessed thru web page and thru Windows Explorer and it don't work with the My Cloud desktop App. It's a lower priced version of the My Cloud but it's nice in it's own way. You can though add a second user and that second user will get whatever space is available on the device. Nether user can see the other users files even though both are using the same device both users will have to share a link with the other and multiple users can share any file that they got access to. The higher end My Clouds have more settings thru interfaces and users can set access limitations but the My Cloud Home is limited.

This is a lot smaller and thinner than the regular My Passport and it has a very nice finish. I am amazed by the speed of USB C connections. I highly recommend the My Passport Ultra. For only $25.00 more I'm glad I bought this HDD. And it's well worth the extra money.

Can i plug this into my desktop or does it plug into a router ?
Yes, there are My Cloud forums that explain hot to connect to your computer directly but it is unclear to me if you'll get to share on line if it is connected directly to your computer. My best guess it that if it is connected directly to your computer it would then be like an external hard drive but I can't be 100% sure on that. Usually it connects directly to your router and you can connect it to your computer.

will this allow multiple sessions at the same time or is this just one session limit?
Yes multiple users can use it at the same time but I recommend if so then have a higher internet speed. How ever I noticed the more users using it at he same time causes lag so usually when I hear the hard drive working I kind of stop what I'm doing just to give them more speed.
