It is already set region free for dvds. Blu Rays you need to change it. For Sony models press Yellow for region A. Blue for region B. Red for region C.

I am considering buying this machine for Audio SA-CD's and other audio formats. As I will have no monitor hooked up, will I still need to set it up? Will the default settings allow me to use it as a plain old CD player? Thanks!
Ultra HD Blu-ray players and 4K ultra Blu-ray players can be used to play commercially released cds and may play cds burned with MP3 files.
