Almost great

Got this blue ray player as a upgrade from my previous player just because it plays UHD Blu-ray’s which is also a Sony.
I mean it does what it’s suppose to do but sometimes you can hear the disc just spinning without doing nothing, just a black screen, I have to turn it off and on, it doesn’t do it very often but once in a while, did not return it because I noticed this just about 2 months after buying it.
Other then that, the picture and sound is amazing, I got it hooked to an av receiver with Dolby atmos and a 4K projector with a 84 inch screen, no need to go to movie theaters any more.

So I got the PS4 pro for my daughter on Christmas, we were hunting for the slim version that on Black Friday was at 199, unfortunately they sold out before we could make it to the parking lot.
I ended up getting the pro since it was also on special, and I don’t regret any dollar I spent on this console.
The only downside is that you can’t play 4K discs and it isn’t capable of Dolby Atmos, hopefully in the future a firmware update will add atmos. HDR looks amazing.

Not sure about e-ac3 but does not support mkv, I got some videos on my flash drive and all mkv when selected shows unsupported format.

Does this 4k BP provide 5.1 ch. or 7.1 ch. home theatre sound quality?
Yes it does as long as the disc/streaming material is encoded at 5.1 or 7.1, and your source is capable of playing 5.1/7.1 I got my connected to an A/V receiver and it switches automatically to 5.1.2 (my current configuration) by default it selects the best audio output depending on what you got your audio connected.
