Getting along with your in-laws can be tough. For newlywed Grace de Lomas (Samara Weaving), it's positively life-threatening. At a gathering with her husband's (Mark O'Brien) wealthy and offbeat family, Grace takes part in a game of hide-and-seek that turns into a desperate fight for survival when it becomes apparent that she's being hunted to the death by her new-and heavily armed-relatives. Laced with pitch-black humor, this quirky thriller also stars Adam Brody, Henry Czerny, and Andie MacDowell. 95 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

So yeah a lot of releases I wanted to see this year; won't be able to see them until they come out on video...basically for money reasons, this was worth the wait though!
Samara Weaving stars as a bride who is marrying into a rich family but first has to go through a initiation (a game if you will) to approve her worthiness of being added to the family, only it turns out to be a much more condensed version of The Most Dangerous Game.
Kinda like Happy Death Day 2U; this movie thrives on being a black comedy that knows the ridiculousness of its premise and has fun with it without coming across as cynical or too winking owards the camera, however I enjoyed this film alot more.
Weaving does a great job as the bride and is an actor that is thriving right now, and the other family members do a great job with varying sinister/crazy personalities, especially an unrecognizable Adam Brody and that cocaine chick.
However I feel like it's in the pacing that's the main problem for me; this movie is an hour and 35 minutes and I think those extra five minutes were dedicated to just silence in dialogue and little bits of walking around the house and outside; strangely a similar problem I just had with Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, nothing excruciatingly or boring but I feel like it could have been a little more lively, the pacing of this movie takes its time and allows you to soak in as much as possible.
And this is just a personal nitpick of mine, but I thought the sudden deaths to all the family members towards the end was a bit anti-climactic; admittedly I thought this was going to be a bit more like a slasher film but then I realized if they did that we wouldn't have as much time to enjoy the crazy family members, and the idea with keeping the main members alive till the very end of to kill them off like that; it makes sense for the story, the pacing, and the tone so really it renders my point mute but I still felt the need to bring it up.
Arnold Schwarzenegger blows the screen apart as Major InchDutchInch Schaefer, the commanding officer of an elite military unit sent to the Central American jungle on a rescue mission. But Dutch and his team soon have bigger problems to contend with when they realize they're being stalked by a bloodthirsty extraterrestrial hunter that uses advanced alien technology-including the ability to render himself all but invisible-to pick them off one by one. Carl Weathers, Jesse Ventura, Bill Duke also star. 107 min. Widescreen; Soundtracks English DTS HD 5.1 Master Audio, Dolby Digital Surround, Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1, French DTS 5.1; Subtitles English (SDH), Spanish, French; audio commentary; Inchmaking ofInch documentary; featurettes; bonus footage; deleted scenes; photo gallery.

One of the prime examples of Comedy Horror; the gizmo creature is adorable...and you're left screaming at the kid whenever he inadvertently harms gizmo in some way XD
When the Gremlins do pop up things gets hilariously terrifying, props to Joe Dante and Chris Columbus for giving this movie it's all.
And that "Mega Madness" song...THAT is gonna be stuck in my head forever...along with a Gremlin doing the "Flashdance".

Rise of the Planet of the Apes 2011 - Blu-ray - A single act of both compassion and arrogance leads to a war unlike any other - and to the RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. The Oscar-winning visual effects team that brought to life the worlds of Avatar and Lord of the Rings is breaking new ground, creating a CGI ape that delivers a dramatic performance of unprecedented emotion and intelligence, and epic battles on which rest the upended destinies of man and primate. Rated PG-13 for intense and frightening sequences of action and violence.
