The greatest trilogy of all time

This has been one of the biggest and best trilogies of movies I've ever had the pleasure of growing up with along with my family doing the same thing since my parents got me this trilogy as a Christmas present I think when I was 4 years old, my family and I have loved and memorized the Lord of the Rings trilogy ever since then and I'm 24 years old now and I'm still in love with it. Everything about this film that starts the trilogy I love so much, the characters, the musical scores, the story, the locations, the styles of the clothing, the weapons, the magic, everything is so compelling and so captivating. Even the mysteries in this film are just so intriguing, like is Frodo going to accept responsibility for becoming the bearer of the One Ring, will the fellowship succeed in their quest to Mordor, will Aragorn accept his responsibility as the heir to the throne of Gondor and give up his life in the wild as a ranger, will Frodo be able to have the courage and bravery he needs to keep on going to Mordor even with no matter what happens, will the Enemy succeed in getting back the One Ring that was forged by him in the first place and even will Frodo ever go on another adventure after this one since it's his very first adventure outside of his home ever, the list of mysteries and questions goes on and it just keeps getting better and better. The Fellowship of the Ring is beyond a shadow of a doubt very captivating for just about everyone and after starting it the journey to destroy the One Ring of power begins and you'll probably not want to stop until you find out what happens next, if Bilbo's first adventure in The Hobbit was outstandingly incredible than so is Frodo's first adventure in the Lord of the Rings. My favorite character is Legolas the elf and my sister's favorite character is Aragorn the ranger, even now we're still completely in love with them and all other wonderful characters who are as wonderfully skilled and courageous as they are. You've got to watch these movies starting with The Fellowship of the Ring as it takes you on the beginning of one of the greatest adventures of all time as it had for me and my family for years and years, part 1 of this trilogy is so wonderfully intriguing and fantastic that you're going to want to watch it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. You won't regret it, I garuntee it. I never did, still never do and never will!!!!!

Not as great as LOTR but it’s ok

And I thought the Lord of the Rings trilogy was something before, but this prequel that happened before that trilogy is just as surprising, intense, fierce, magical, stunning and so much more, starting with this one. I'm extremely compelled and astonished by all that Bilbo went through in this beginning of his first adventure, it's like you can see where Frodo got his feeling of adventure when Lord of the Rings came around. Out of all the dwarves in this film my absolute favorites are Fili and his brother Kili since not only are they rather adorable and sweet but they're also super brave, they have strong hearts and no fear like the others do, they also know how to make the best out of any situation whether it involves fighting or not. My sister's favorite in the company is Thorin Oakenshield probably because he kind of resembles her, he's got a bit of an attitude and he sometimes is rather uptight, but he's also very good looking and he definitely knows how to treat the ones closest to him whether it's friends or family. It's also no surprise to me that Bilbo discovers the One Ring in this one, I guess you could say that it sets up the very thing that began before the 60 year timeline that happened after Bilbo found the Ring and before it was passed on to Frodo against Bilbo's better judgment. All in all this film is beyond wonderful and captivating, the musical scores, the languages, the familiar faces from Lord of the Rings, the way the story itself begins and plays out so far in this film, everything. Even the truth of how the One Ring really landed into Bilbo's possession, the truth of how he found the sword known as Sting before he gave it to Frodo, the reveal of the very blade that stabbed Frodo in the first film of Lord of the Rings and the background story behind it, the truth that revealed that the White wizard Saruman was originally on the good side before we see him in Lord of the Rings now working for the Enemy and the fact that he and Gandalf are not the only wizards out there, and not to mention the bond that Bilbo and Thorin were able to form after all they've been through so far in this film, it all begins to unfold the story of Bilbo's very first adventure in such a way that I myself can't really describe too much. If you're looking for another outstanding and intense fantasy adventure to get into like you probably have with Lord of the Rings than you've got to dive into the trilogy of The Hobbit, the story of how one rather young hobbit was willing to step outside of his comfortable and wonderful home and dare to risk it all for a company of sweet and incredible dwarves trying to take back their home that was taken from them so long ago. The Lord of the Rings is an adventure all by itself and also one of the greatest adventures that my family has ever had the pleasure of growing up with, but if you're looking for something that's just as intense and wonderful as that trilogy than The Hobbit is the next big and perfect adventure trilogy for you. It all really begins with An Unexpected Journey, a journey that you'll want to go on over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. I know I will!!!

Great Christmas movie

This movie provides me with more and more Christmas cheer every time I watch it. It's a heart-warming comedy that I am glad has existed so I can give it as high of a rating as I can. Will Ferrell is a great actor and he is really funny. I crack up every time he makes a joke in this movie. And the story is very unique. A man who thinks he is an elf since he was little, goes to New York to meet his adoptive family and spread Christmas spirit all around the city and the world when Santa doesn't have enough spirit to fly his sleigh himself. I can't believe this movie has been around for over 17 years now. For the past 15 years, I've watched this movie at least once each year. Gets better every time! Anyways, if you're looking for a good Christmas/Winter movie, don't watch Arctic Dogs and instead watch this movie. God bless us all!

Good movie

It's so funny how in the movie they portray Xerxes to be Vain, Naive, and arrogant enough to claim himself as a "God-King" a "King of King's" and "perfect beyond measure", and then you read the reviews from fellow Iranians, and Persians who are so triggered by the portrayal of their God-King Xerxes in this movie, that they even go as far to write statements in their review such as:
"Persians are perfect we are not like this"
"How can they make false information about persians"
"We are the best people in the world"
It's safe to say that this persian "god-like" thinking is in their genes/DNA. Zack Snyder most definitely realized this insecure-complex-easily-antagonized-fragile-ego-like-mentality and capitalized on it to acquire controversy over his film sparking debate, and free-marketing.
I believe the idea of this film was to portray how godly yet humane Spartans were, and the idea of allowing a "Xenos" (greek word for stranger) to conquer and rule above them, even a thought like this is considered disrespect, and punishable by death in the world of Sparta.
I don't believe the film was intended to be historically accurate by any means, but was meant to show Spartan gene, and spartan blood. Show no fear, fight till death, and against all-odds glorious in death. This mentality is in the blood of modern day spartans, if you ever get the chance to meet someone who has spartan blood in them you will know. You will understand what it means to be a Spartan, if you ever stand by one. Honour, Strength, and Pride runs fierce in Spartan genes.
Again, Spartans are no less, and no more than any other human - sure as hell they may have not been the brightest, but their ferociousness when defending their honour, family, pride, and what they believe in, is yet to be tested by ANY other human.
Ask a Spartan to defend his country against defying odds, and impossible scenarios- and the legend of thermopylae exists.
Ask a Spartan to tutor you in math- you will fail your exam.
that's my point. the movie is to portray one thing, who Spartans were, and what they did against the impossible.

Dark as hell

My one of the favourite lines from the movie was...joker saying to himself,,,"I used to think that my life is a TRAGEDY but now i realise that it is nothing but COMEDY"....so, u can imagine how disturbing a movie could be with it's theme being 'TRAGEDY=COMEDY'...but it was not that disturbing for me as i am used to of or aware of the ongoing social-political structure of our country !!!
It has got those 'Dark Knight' (arguably one of the finest superhero movie ever made) vibes...i had an emotional ride, watching small Bruce Wane (Nolan's batman) meeting Joker, getting to know the pre batman story of the Gotham city and the back story or the building-up of the 'Joker the villain' of dark night.....IT WAS QUITE NOSTALGIC FOR ME IN THAT WAY !!!
If i would have maximum of 5 stars to give to this movie, i would have simply divided it by zero (0).....i write about movies all the time but this one has that 'something' that forced me to type and share my views with u guys instead of writing it in my diary.....on that note i would like to finish this review with one line...."THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE IN LAST SEVERAL YEARS THAT I SAW....& U CAN'T CAN'T CAN'T MISS IT" !!!

What we have here in this remaster is a solid game with refinements and even wider car selections because all of the main DLC has been bundled in it from the get-go. The car selection is fantastic, and dare I say actually slightly better than what we had when Ghost Games were still around for their four NFS titles.

A love letter to Hollywood’s Golden age

This is one of the finest works Tarantino has ever put to celluloid. There is just pure joy in watching this story unfold in front of your eyes and it takes you back to a time where it feels that the world was still an innocent place and a safe place. Even though I have never lived through the 60s or the 70s or in the U.S. for that matter but still,I could feel that time period so perfectly captured and I really got lost in that fantasy, the land of ambition and the dreamers, even though it was for a brief moment but it was beautiful. There are so many period films being made but rarely one that really takes you back in time and reminds you of the magic of movies.Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is a fantastical take on reality.
This is a very different Tarantino film. It's a very mature film from Tarantino and feels very personal in so many ways. It has minimal use of Tarantino trademarks including violence,action,non-linear storyline, dialogues. The film has all these Tarantino trademarks but in a much more constrained way. He is not trying to go over-the-top here like his previous films. Instead of going for plot heavy narrative,he ties this film with these interesting characters whose actions drive the narrative. These characters are some of the best written characters by the aueter especially the duo,Cliff Booth and Rick Dalton. Both are brilliantly written characters and majority of the reason they are so good is because of the brilliant performances by Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio. It was a dream to watch them both just do what they do best giving some of the best performance of their respective careers. Margot Robbie's Sharon Tate is very calming.
What I most liked about the film, apart from these well nuanced characters,is that throughout the film there is always contrast at play. We can never feel one thing at a time. Almost everything can be seen from different perspectives. For instance, the trailer breakdown scene on the set of Lancer can be viewed differently. When I first saw the movie, I thought it was quite funny. But on my second viewing, a feeling of gloominess had cast over me. Also,The details of the period setting of the film is such a highlight. Every little detail is paid attention to.
The soundtrack of the film was one of the best soundtracks I have heard and also one of the best of Tarantino. Almost all the songs were used very well to suit the narrative. The 'Out Of Time' sequence was so perfectly used indicating so many things for different people. I personally loved 'Twelve Thirty' at the end of the film. It was unnerving, the way it was cut to the scene. The end credits cue was haunting, melancholic and sweet all at the same time.
The ending belongs to Brad Pitt. He nailed it.I don't want to spoil the ending instead I just want to say that it's one of the most exciting, suspenseful, hilarious, audacious and brilliant ending sequence you will ever experience. In the end,I just want to say that its all about the perspective. It all depends on how you view and that's such a great thing to have in a film. The film is about the buddy relationship and the chemistry between the actor-stuntman or the film is about the changing times of Hollywood with the backdrop of the Manson murders. The film is about nothing, the film is about everything. The film is the least Tarantinoesque endeavor and the film is the most Tarantinoesque by the end. As for me,its my favorite film of the year.

Uncompromising, powerful war movie that does not p
on October 29, 2020

If there is one specific genre I don't watch that much, it's the war genre. Normally, it's not my type of movie, but when it comes to one of the best, if not the best war film, it has to be Saving Private Ryan. This is my first viewing of the film and I am very impressed. It's not just your typical war film, it has a personal story that will keep you hooked from start to finish and it's one of Spielberg's best films.
Saving Private Ryan is told through flashbacks during World War II and starts with the devastating D-Day invasion in 1944. The film follows a group of soldiers who are assigned to a mission to locate a missing soldier whose brothers were killed in action.
Within the first 30 minutes of the film, Steven Spielberg rewrote everything about warfare movies and perfectly captures the horrors of war on screen. There are stunning yet brutal action scenes, but it doesn't detract the whole film's focus.
The cinematography is dazzling and the set design truly grips you into its World War II setting. When it comes to characterization and emotional scenes, this film succeds in delivering them. It may be a war film, but it will leave affected by the end. The movie has a great cast, such as Tom Hanks, Matt Damon and even Vin Diesel, and they all give great performances.
There isn't much flaws in the film, aside from the pacing in some scenes. Saving Private Ryan revolutionized how war movies are done and it pays tribute to the fallen warriors of World War II. Highly recommended.
