I was skeptical if this would be worth the upgrade over the 900 but I was pleasantly surprised that I don't regret the purchase at all. The new AI dialogue is a happy medium between the regular and dialogue mode on the original 900. It also seems to be clearer and have much deeper frequencies being sent to my subwoofer

Looks good but doesn't sound good.

The design was cool and looks cool out in the living room but the audio quality was really so bad that I had to return it. The audio quality is probably accurate to what they had when record players were first released ever, but when you compare it to something like even a cheap SONY, I'm not sure you can go back to this one. Hopefully mine was just a bad one and the rest don't sound as bad. I even hooked it up to an external speaker but still sounded so low quality and also sometimes vocals would go into some sort of gain/modulation and really everything would modulate at times. I got a lower end SONY one and now I'm very happy.

I got these as an upgrade form the regular surround speakers and honestly thought I would be disappointed for spending so much compared to the noticeable difference. But wow I was wrong! These speakers change the entire sound-stage into an immersive experience - combined with the subwoofers. It's hard to explain except that it's so much more like an actual movie theatre now.

Ok so this soundbar handles eARC in a very weird way. My HTPC and its Nvidia Console detected the TV instead of the receiver even though the HTPC was directly connected the soundbar. It's as if it was passing through the sound via eARC and then back down again as sound was only stereo. So it really doesn't process sound when a HDMI device is directly connected to it. Very weird. This is unacceptable for a $500 soundbar

No eArc

Not sure this mades a difference for you or if you just made a typo, but from everything I've read, this soundbar doesn't have eArc capabilities - just regular arc. Being that it can't decode Atmos or DTS HD, there's also no reason for it to have it, unless you are trying to use eArc to pass-through to your TV. But it can still passthrough Dolby Vision and HDR10+ through regular arc anyways so....
If regular Arc is giving you problems, just run it through the optical port. Since it's max capabilities are Dolby Digital and regular DTS, you are still providing it the max info it can decode through optical. Also, most modern equipment should still be able to somehow turn on/off and adjust the volume on the soundbar without needing arc. I can do this through both my Vizio TV and my Fire Cube without any additional programming. I had similar problems before with this soundbar and a Vizio soundbar when running my Fire Cube through the soundbar into the TV with arc. So on my end, I don't think it's a soundbar problem. But I have no advantage sweating it out - just switched to optical.
