Pleased with the overall purchase with this refrigerator. Do not purchase their water line if you want your water to taste “metal free”. The stainless steel line is against the manufacturer recommendation and Best Buy will still charge you $30 for a $8 pex line.
Have an Installer quickly and professionally install a new water supply line and shut-off valve. We will install a manufacturer supplied water filter or new water filter, if purchased. We will also level the new appliance and demonstrate the basic operation.

We have had a problem with the install of this refrigerator and are very unhappy with the Best Buy response. The water tastes very bad. After a couple of weeks of no improvement, we called Best Buy customer service. They told me it was a manufacturer problem and to contact LG. I called the number I was given and fairly quickly LG asks me if a braided stainless steel water line was installed. I told them yes. They told me that is a common problem and the reason for the bad tasting water. They DO NOT recommend the use of braided stainless steel water lines. They do not use this material inside the fridge for this reason. I called back Best Buy and asked them to change the water line, explaining what LG had said. After a long phone call, i was told it would be done and an appt was made for April 23. That morning i got a call about installing or exchanging the fridge from the company that did the original install. I explained to them what the issue was. He claimed they only use stainless steel and couldn’t offer pex, which is what LG suggested. I pointed out that the install was done against mfg suggested guidelines. Pex waterlines are readily available at any place that sells plumbing supplies. He said he would call Best Buy. I got a call back from Best Buy a few minutes later. The lady i spoke with acted like it was crazy to follow the mfg suggestions and that nobody has ever complained about a braided stainless stall water line. She was incredibly rude and obstinate. I told her that LG asked me right away what water line was used and said that braided stainless steel creates a bad taste as the water sits in the line and picks up this metal. I was told it is a common problem. She argued that info. I told her to call LG and hear it from them. That was the end of our service appt. I never heard back from anyone and it appears she closed the issue? That was 3.5 days ago. We paid for professional install and delivery. I don’t feel like I should have to go and buy the correct product myself and just throw away the incorrect item that i paid for.

The old water lines (with water in the line) were thrown into a closed closet floor. Found 2 weeks later when the smell started to come from the closet. Yet, third party service team still wanted a tip.

Would have been really nice if this had actually been installed onto the new unit as I had purchased to be done. Third party service team wanted a tip for their quality work. When the LG pedestals were delivered the next week by a new service team, I was asked why I had a hose with a large hole in it reinstalled when I had purchased and paid for new ones to be installed with the new units.
