Ignore internet setup instructions

After some concern about wireless VS. wired internet, knowing that this device does not support wireless and that my hard-wired connection is nowhere near, I decided to try setting up without following those instructions even though the instructions seem to indicate that an internet connection is required. I was able to set it up and it works fine.

When adding the liquid softener or detergent is it supposed to leak out the bottom into the washer tub?
Don't know for sure. Just got the washer but I think it has leaked a little. Compartment is huge and I don't overfill it. I don't use softener.
