A Melville classic in 4K

A classic Melville crime thriller now in 4k. This disc has a sharp, crisp image, a great transfer. I know there are some negative reviews on the web about the warmer color timing, but I thought the film looked much more natural than some of the previous "cool blue" transfers. The pool tables actually look green and Dolby vision really brings out the vibrant reds, greens and blues.

This is a great film, but I'm rating it two stars since the digital copy was not included and instead I just received the blu ray + dvd. Apparently others have had the same issue as well so be aware before you buy. I tried exchanging this through chat but was told all I could do is try to exchange it in-store, which there aren't any stores in my area that carry this title.

I liked this film a lot and I usually don't like Tom Cruise, but he really gives a good performance here. Special effects are great and this is actually just as good of a transfer IMO as the 4k version which had a lot of DNR. Definitely recommend.

I went into this blind and I must say I've been missing out all these years. Great performances by the cast in an all out crazy film. The 4k transfer is great as well and has probably one the best uses of HDR that I've seen on any disc.

Great transfer on one Of Darabont's best.

One of the greats from Darabont brought to 4k with a beautiful transfer. The colors are quite accurate and the 4k resolution is flawless, just as good as the Shawshank transfer in my opinion. The steelbook artwork is miles better than the standard release as well.
