The Shure SM7B is a dynamic cardioid studio mic with a smooth, flat, wide-range frequency response appropriate for virtually any professional audio applications. The SM7B features excellent shielding against electromagnetic hum generated by computer monitors, neon lights, and other electrical devices. The mic has been updated from earlier models with an improved bracket design that offers greater stability. At least 60dB of gain is recommended to get that iconic warm and balanced tone most commonly associated with the SM7B.

It has been a significant improvement from just using my heaphone microphones. I went with the scarlet 2i2 amp to pair it with that also allows me to plus in my Yamaha headphones as well. Only thing that I did not realize was that the mic did not come with an XLR cable so I had to make a seperate trip to purchase one.
