I changed from gas to electric dryer. Installer did not notify homeowner (me) that the gas pipe needs to be capped to prevent a leak. The electric dryer pushed against the gas pipe valve resulting in a major gas leak requiring 911 emergency responders and gas company service to come cap the valve. It was a very dangerous situation with potentially disastrous consequences (the house could have blown up and we could have lost our lives). I spoke to the installer to let the supervisor know they need to implement a policy to make sure gas lines are capped.
