Enjoy virtually static-free sound with this SiriusXM FM direct adapter, which provides a high-performance wired audio connection to your vehicle's radio. You can still listen to your local AM and FM stations when your Satellite Radio is turned off. Compatible with most SiriusXM, XM and Sirius radio models with a PowerConnect Vehicle Kit.

This thing works great! It was easy to install as well. I didn't even use an adapter. I cut and sliced the wires in between my original antenna wire. And signal strength is amazing.

I have a 2010 Honda element with factory Sirius XM tuner and antenna. I want to upgrade the headunit to Sony XAV-1000 radio which is Sirius XM ready. DO i need this adapter so that i would be able to continue using the XM service?

I don't think so. If the stereo has XM you should be good. I added an onyx XM unit to my fiance's truck. It sends the signal over the air and she dials in to an fm channel on the stereo. Without this adapter any strong FM signals will overpower her XM. This goes in between your stereo antenna and the stereo via the fm antenna Jack. Now, when I power up the XM device, it injects the signal right into the stereo with a built in amplifier. When she turns XM off, it shuts off the xm signal and allows normal antenna reception. I hope this helps you.
