They work great! They won't work well with huge and complicated systems, but for three function AV systems (cable, audio, CD/DVD) they work fantastically.
I have a cable box, and Apple TV, and a Bluray player, and it handled all of the functions, and the best part is this system is wireless. I can be in another room, and control the volume, or other functions. And the receiver has an infrared 'bug' that translates the wireless to the infrared for those many devices that need that. An extra one is available as a separate option.
I haven't yet found a device they don't support too, which is nice. No more standing there making sure the device can see the remote. If they still sell this, it's amazing.

Everyone told me I wouldn't be able to hear over the echo. Yeah, cute...
The sound, in my head, is a little thin, but it's clear. I also could hear background conversations and most sounds clearly too. For riding bikes outside, this is a great feature. You have to keep the blocks on your head though, or the sound fades.
It's a great concept that worked better than I thought it would, and no echo...

I've dropped an iPhone onto concrete floors from 6 feet, and the iPhone survived. That was a 6. I've had OtterBox Defender cases ever since. (One drop cracked the plastic inner case, but the iPhone survived intact. I nearly needed CPR, until I picked it up, and it was unscathed)
On some I've had to pull the plastic off of the home button cover, but on the XS Max, there is no home button.
These are heavy cases, so if you are looking for a light case, this isn't it, but looking for a case that is incredibly durable, Get This Case!
I just wish OtterBox would bling them up a little. They did have different colors at one point, but you had to direct order them. I'd buy a Star Wars Defender case, but they haven't gone that way.

One unit failed, then Linksys had a security break in, and the system stopped working (Linksys shutdown all accounts apparently). So I set it up again, from scratch, and it shutdown again! Then another node started dropping from the mesh, and I just gave up.
I have to go elsewhere to do Webex meetings, even with this system up and running because it's so sketchy. One or the other 'sister' node would be out at random times during the day. Seeing, in the administrator, that a node was down because a daily occurrence. It's too late to return the mess, but you might be able to pick it up at a local GoodWill Store, in a ziploc bag. I think I'm going back to the Apple Airport Extreme AP's I had (and Apple discontinued), that I was able to pull out of the donation box.
Oh, and their app worked well, and then they 'updated it', and it's one step above useless. Finding administrative tasks is finding things in the dark. Find something else.

I thought that I might end up needing more bits, but, so far, I haven't. I even used the 'tri-wing' bit just today. The metal knife spudger seems indestructible. I had a heck of a time getting an external hard drive open because the interface died, and between the knife (It's not sharp actually) and the guitar pick looking chips, I powered that origami case open in minutes.
This kit has the most popular stuff in it. I bought it for a junk drawer tool kit, and it's proven to be so much more, AND the case has magnets so it will stay put on metal too. The top reverses and sticks to the bottom. Well thought out. Great productive kit!

In what I'd consider 'light duty', the locked in end of the loop pulled out! It was on a hold down strap inside a suitcase. It was usually right there, attached, firmly I thought, to that strap, until it wasn't. I have another one that has survived being yanked, and tugged as it's on the outside of a carry-on bag. I was shocked to see this one fail to be honest, considering how the other one I have has survived such brutal treatment. Disappointed... I'll take it apart, obviously, to see what happened, and if it's repairable/reusable.

Oh, I feel so stupid. I forgot to close it just before I left for vaca. (I was in such a rush to pack and setup the AIrTags and holders) I could have sworn that I closed it and locked it on the strap in the suitcase, but after opening it (I didn't pack the allen key) I can see that there was absolutely no way that would ever come off, short of ripping the strap off, or destroying the suitcase. It's really very well made and I would very highly recommend it to people. I have several different models of Belkin AirTag holders too, and they all are great!

Can I use external hard drive to transfer my movies from my dish hopper to this hard drive
I wouldn't think so. I have an AT&T DVR, and I can't transfer anything off that box to external storage. If you could, I doubt the data would be usable.
Some DVR boxes do allow for accessory add-on storage, but it's going to be heavily encrypted. I'm not familiar with the 'Hopper', but DRM is so crazy, and a PITA. YMMV...

Is this compatable with an old mac mini with high sierra os ?
The drive is agnostic. You may run into a problem because the drive is so large. I think the early versions of macOS had a hard coded limit on the size of a drive. As I remember, it's 2tb. And re-partition it as an Apple disk.
I'd recommend going with a smaller capacity drive than this 5tb drive.
