I have long thought of 'cutting the cable.' I tried by buying this ROKU device for the TV in our family room an eliminating the cable box for that room. So far, we LOVE it!!!! There are a few channels we don't get that we did with cable, but there are TONS more on ROKU that weren't on cable!
