I’ve been wanting a great Bluetooth speaker for my garage area while I’m working in the garage on my many projects. I personally was going to buy one by Marshall with WiFi (JBL does have a WiFi speaker, but I didn’t want google voice assistant). However, before I could make the purchase I was surprised with this as a gift. I like the fact that it’s water resistant/waterproof, I also like that I can link speakers to have the same music playing in different areas. The highs are rich, the mids are warm and the bass is deep for the size.
The only thing that I would like to see from JBL concerning this speaker, is a true equalizer within the JBL connect app or a sperate app that lets you control the sound stage. But that isn’t a reason to not love this speaker.

The head unit is very nice and offers a lot but there is one flaw that CANNOT be turned off, muted or fixed and it interrupts everything with a loud BEEEEEEEP! This unit has Traffic Congestion warnings that start when you are about 1 mile from where the 'navigation' thinks is a slow traffic situation ahead the unit BEEPS and then it continues to BEEEP at least if not more than every tenth of a mile until you pass that point. In many cases there really is no traffic at all and you still had to deal with the interruption. It can also be heard but the other person on the call if you are on a hands free phone call. Yes it interrupts phone calls also. If you live in an area like I do that means by the time you have passed one congestion point you are already getting the BEEEEPS for the next congestion point. Instead of having some great music playing to help occupy your time waiting in traffic you spend your time listening to BEEEEEPS. As stated but I really need to reiterate this point, it interrupts all sources, you cannot turn it, it happens even when you are not using navigation and it will not stop. I contacted Kenwood over 12 times and the final answer they gave me was exactly this, "He (Kenneth) has researched the issue and confirmed it is normal operation. Unfortunately the notification cannot be turned off."
Please take this under considerations when you think about buying this unit or any Kenwood navigation system. If you like listening to BEEEEEEEPS about every 3 seconds than buy this you and you will be very happy.

Update Your Maps
April 16, 2019
Have you tried updating your maps? It’s simple to do. Just go to KENWOOD.com/usa, go to the car entertainment section and look for the update link and follow the instruction for this unit. What happens is if there was ever construction in the area your referencing when the map software was received by KENWOOD that information was included, so garmin knowing the slow traffic included in the software writing, I believe.
If that doesn’t work for you then it just maybe the KENWOOD traffic app need to be updated.
