A Fun Marvel Movie

The movie was a lighthearted change after the events of Avengers: Infinity War. While Ghost wasn't as strong a villain as expected, she still proved to be adequate, popping up in unexpected places and helping to ramp up the action, particularly in the city chase scene. The Quantum Realm looked great in 4K. And the Easter Eggs at the end help lead to Avengers 4. Great movie!

Good But Not Great

While the movie was great when it was taking place on the island, the movie lost its charm when it moved to the estate. The thought of weaponizing dinosaurs was a little farfetched, and to parade them through a room of bidders without adequate safeguards in place was ludicrous. It will be interesting to see how the trilogy will conclude, hopefully on a high note.

Marvel outdid themselves by bringing seven franchises together in the battle for the fate of the universe. The opening scene on the Asgardian ship not only showed how deadly and ruthless Thanos was, but it also showed how breathtaking the movie is in 4K Ultra. An outstanding mix of action, high stakes drama, humor, and curveballs (Vormir!). And Thor literally steals the show when he appears in Wakanda with Stormbreaker: I jumped out of my seat and yelled in the movie theater on opening night and I did the same thing in my living room. What a movie!

I first bought the movie when it came out in Blu-Ray 3D format. Watching it in 4K Ultra felt like watching an entirely different movie. From the opening scenes with Tony Stark meeting Agent Coulson and Natasha Romanoff's interrogation to the battle of New York, the scenes were literally breathtaking visually; some appeared almost lifelike. The superhero movie that did what no other had ever accomplished before and every studio has tried to emulate ever since with a shared movie universe. Simply Marvel-ous!

I bought the HUBMAX portable charger as a replacement for a old first-gen charger that was no longer working (I forget the brand name). I used it to charge an iPhone 6s at a football game. I was able to go from 50% to 80% in approximately one hour, and my friend was also able to do the same with her iPhone 7 right afterwards. I also liked that it had external retractable prongs to plug straight into an outlet as opposed to a USB cable.

The Geek Squad came in and installed a new Whirlpool washer, as well as removing the previous one I owned. They arrived on time, came in and looked at the old one, then got their gear and took it out and replaced it with the new one. They hooked it up quickly and ran a quick test and showed me a few basics on operation. I also appreciated the fact that I overheard them saying as I came to open the door "make sure you wipe your feet" as it was slightly raining during delivery and I have carpet. The entire process took less than 30 minutes to complete. Kudos!

I bought the washer to replace a 14-year old Maytag Atlantis; the Whirlpool is a little smaller but has .7 more water capacity. So far the auto-sensing water option works as advertised, filling up only as far as the load requires. It has a interesting feature where the water automatically drains out if the lid is open for 10 minutes or longer, which I'm not used to. It's also so quiet I actually had to check on it a few times to make sure it was actually working. Very happy!
