I took the opportunity this year to finally upgrade my remaining DVDs to blu ray, and I have to say, I wish I hadn't waited so long to do so with this Christmas Classic! The Grinch has never looked or sounded grinchier, and that's a good thing! Now, there are a couple of money-grabbing sequels also on this disc, but they should be ignored. Just enjoy Boris Karloff's narration of Mr. Grinch and Max scheming and then learning an important lesson.

I absolutely love the original, Boris Karloff-narated How the Grinch Stole Christmas, but I also hate, hate, hate the terrible, crass, and fake-sweet Jim Carey live-action version. What a surprise to find that this movie learns from the latter's mistakes and is more like the former, even as it successfully fleshes-out the story and the lives of The Grinch and The Whos. I wish Cumberbatch would have kept his native British accent, but he still does good work as the titular character. If you love the story, this movie is a must-have.

The long-awaited next game in the vaunted Halo Series is just about everything you could want, though, with some caveats. The game, for the most part, looks great, though there are some unfinished or hazy renders in the background likely due to rushing to make a release date. However, this is still the best story and best game that 343 has contributed to the Halo series. The grapnel works for Batman, so of course it would work for Master Chief. And we FINALLY can recharge the energy sword, one of the most long-awaited tweaks for Halo fans.

I have never seen A Charlie Brown Christmas look this crisp, and beautiful. Another great thing about this disc is they give you the option to watch in the original 4:3 aspect ratio or switch to 16x9. I do recommend watching it in the original format, but I do know people feel like they have their big, beautiful televisions and the want the picture stretched from corner to corner. At least know you people won't be zooming-in and ruining what you're watching by having this option available to you. I love that it also comes with the Halloween and Thanksgiving Peanuts specials, too.
