Early in the game, the characters were getting on my nerves because they were overly cheerful/adorable, but as the story went on, I got to like them better and even stopped rolling my eyes at the singing. The story was excellent! I did a full playthrough, and after some time passes, will do another to explore the branching paths not taken. There is not much actual gameplay and what little there is, is very simplistic/easy and did not spark much thrill or sense of accomplishment. If you go into this with a "visual novel" mindset rather than expecting a platformer it will temper your expectations. $50 was definitely overpriced. This is more of a $30 game.

I've put probably 30 hours into this game so far and then moved on to another game. Not worth the $40 price tag, $25 would be more appropriate. I jumped on Kitaria Fables as soon as it released because the art looked adorable and I like RPGs and farming sims. However, everything in this game is a slow grind and you will die often. Luckily, you don't lose items when you respawn, which makes death slightly less frustrating, but it can take you 10 minutes just to get back to where you were when you died since teleportation points are somewhat scarce. If you only like combat elements or only like farming sim elements, do not get this game as you are required to do both to progress.

One of the best psychological thriller animes out there! Almost all of Satoshi Kon's has an amazing surrealism that keeps his work from being predictable, but this is the place to start if you're new to it. The Steelbook case itself is basic and the artbook is thin, but this is my 3 time buying this movie because I like it enough to upgrade (first DVD, then BluRay, now Steelbook). If you like Perfect Blue, give Kon's series Paranoia Agent a try next!

Wow! I'd only owned the simple black and white Tamagotchis before this and am amazed at the advanced features of this one. It might be a bit complex for very young children, and it definitely takes a lot more work to keep alive than the simpler versions, but if you're looking for more interaction, this is the way to go. Especially for the first hour (baby stage) you'll have to be constantly glued to it. The connectivity with other Tamagotchi On's and the phone app is pretty cool and worked well and the breeding feature is neat too. It's fun to see what kind of traits the offspring ends up with.
