This air conditioner has a difficult time cooling as the vent hose gets far to hot to even touch heating up its surroundings. The vent hose heats up the space much faster than the air conditioner can cool. It fights against itself. This is not a good purchase.

It worked well for 2 summers, but then it stopped cooling. The warranty only lasts 1 year, so I decided to open it up and see if I could see anything wrong. Looks like the radiator rusted at one of the seams and the refrigerant leaked out. It was great while it worked, and pretty quiet, but for this price I would expect to be able to use it for more than 2 seasons.

clean the coils with an air hose

clean coils with air hose, the dust will clog the inside coils, and the unit will not cool, the rust is normal, I also put insulation around the plastic exterior hose, without this the unit is ineffective because the plastic hose exterior of the unit will get ultra hot. I am surprised LG did not resolve this issue somehow, also after 4 years the hose has cracked and broken off. .The unit is very inefficient. It needs a much more powerful fan to blow the air out of the room than what is comes with,. would only give it 2 stars though
