The CS9040 center channel speaker delivers immense clarity and focus to the vocal range, accurately reproducing even the most demanding audio content so you can experience every detail of pure home theater. An aluminum dome tweeter, BDSS high-performance drivers, and an integrated bass radiator let you hear and feel every note as the artist intends. The inert, resonance-free cabinet structure with acoustically transparent grilles provides natural, uncolored sound without having to remove the speaker grille. The CS9040 features a timeless, minimalist design with machined, aircraft-grade aluminum construction, and can be placed atop any flat-surface such as a stand, shelf or cabinet. Its integrated rubber feet make sure the speaker stays in place and does not scratch your furniture.

first i would like to say this is a good receiver. setup was a breeze (although it took over an hour). the receiver sounds good, is attractive looking, and has enough power to operate my mirage speakers. the receiver is a nice cap to the entry level receiver before jumping into something a bit more expensive.
that being said, i am returning this receiver tomorrow. the sound, while ok, is just not what i'm looking for. i upgraded an older denon receiver for the 4k pass-through and for the newer processing formats. my older receiver is a much higher end receiver from denon and has a MUCH cleaner sound through my speakers. there is also a tiny bit of a delay (i'm guessing processing speeds) with the sound versus picture. this is also a 6ohm receiver and my speakers are 8ohm, so i am a bit scared that either the receiver will be taxed or my speakers will and that it will result in problems with damage down the road.
please keep in mind that this rating is for ME. someone else may find this receiver meets their expectations, and while that may be true i am just looking for a bit more.
there is absolutely nothing wrong with this receiver (in the 3 days i have had it.)
pros: easy setup, attractive, ample power for volume
cons: sound is a bit muddled, much higher THD than i'm used to, processing speed is a tiny bit slow.

i love these!
By glockmeister
I spent quite a while in the magnolia center listening to different setups, and finally decided to go with these as my front r/l speakers. i already had the 9040 center to match, so choosing a set within my budget was pretty easy.
i have pioneer lsx-503 pushing these. i am using the LFE input with these and ihave the speakers set to large (against DT recommendations), as recommended from a sound and vision reviewer. i must say these sound excellent. the bass these produce is deep and tight without sounding too boomy. i was skeptical of the bass produced in the magnolia sound room as they were not using the LFE channel, but i was not disappointed when i got them hooked up at home. the highs are not tinny, and the mids are warm and comforting.
i have not expierenced what others have reported with these towers (humming noise, rattling nose, or reversed polarity on audessey setup).
they are a bit pricey at regular price, but if you wait for a sale they are well worth it. after all said and done, i got them for approximatly bogo.
all in all i am very happy with these and they mix very well with my mirage MX bookshelfs for surrounds.

so i have switched my hook-ups for these a little bit.
i have since changed it from LFE in, to just high level in, and have switched the speaker size to small due to getting a high end 15" sub.
honestly....it sounds much better than it did.

Is the silver base stand required for use? Trying to fit these in a smaller space in Living Room and the cabinet of speaker will fit, but base too wide. Thanks

i wouldn't use them without the bases. they are very tall, and although they are bottom heavy, i believe they would tip over pretty easy.

I have a Bose Accoustimass 5.1 home theater, and a Yamaha Aventage Rxa 760 receiver, will this 2 speakers a good addition to make my sorround 7.1 and make it sound better playing music?

i don't think they would match appropriately. bose are designed very specifically. i think that the 9060's would be too much and the sound would be out of balance.

Can I use the bp9060 for surround left and right?

technically yes, you can. but be careful with room size. i have a 14'x18' room and they are MORE than enough as front l/r. i can't imagine how it would sound with them set for rears as well.

depending on room size, if you are dead set on getting towers for the back you may want to look at the 9040's or maybe the DT offset surrounds.

but yes.....they would probably be awesome for surrounds.
