After reading the reviews and renting the competition the Nikon 16-35mm VR is ultra-sharp and lighter in weight. I used the Nikon 14-24mm and the Nikon 17-35mm and I am impressed with the sharpness of the 16-35mm. Buy it from Best Buy and get the price match and rewards points.

There are sharpness purest photographers out there but this lens will still produce great photos that can be manipulated on a computer for better sharpness and clarity. If you own a Nikon D850 DSLR camera and you only want to purchase one lens, this is the lens you need. I also own the Nikon 16-35 f4 and the Nikon 105 f1.4. If you only want the 28-300 you do not need to be such a perfectionist for sharpness. Computer programs offered by Nikon and Photoshop can make your photos as perfect as necessary. You will totally enjoy the 28-300.
