First of all, Tom Hardy is a stellar actor. It was a unique role for him. The movie dragged a bit at the start though the action and humor are pretty good. It's hard to pinpoint what this movie lacked but it was missing something; no partial stars rankings available, I would've given it 3.75 stars. Hopefully, they crush it in Venom 2 to earn a 5-star review.

Excellent series, owning this trilogy is a must for a medieval-fantasy fan. Tolkien sold the rights to the LOTR and The Hobbit many years ago allowing the motion picture industry to make these movies.
All six films follow the books as much as possible but obviously need to add much more to make them popular.
