A Success Beyond All Expectations

I wish I could give this 4.5 starts instead of 5--because it's certainly better than a 4. It's extraordinary. It leverages the usual trappings of the genre to great effect in its world--like Marvel's Spider-Man before it, it feels like the Wizarding World was made for the OPEN world. Given how big and ambitious it is, just how glitchy it often is makes sense, and I'm tempted to ignore them, but they happen SO often and not infrequently get in the way of playing the game, so they ARE distracting. Still, they aren't SO distracting as to diminish what a massive, massive success this game is. It was thrilling, moving, and addicting. I sank 50 hours into my first playthrough and am currently working on a second. A new game from a massive IP is a major risk--and this one reaped major rewards.

Relive the original adventure on PlayStation 4. The beloved fan-favorite has been completely remade from the grave up, blending classic gameplay with amazing visuals, all in exciting 4K.

If you liked the original MediEvil and want to play it again, but with better graphics, buy this. If you've never played MediEvil before, the price point may be a bit too high for a game that still plays like a PlayStation 1 game. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it is very much a port of an old game and not a particularly new experience.

The customization system is clever, traveling between planets is easy, and the game has enough wry jokes to keep you chuckling along as you speak to many, many people.
Buy this game if you want to sink hours upon hours into something.

Owning a copy of the show is reason enough to purchase it, but add to that the guarantee of visual and audio quality typical to Blu-ray, AND extended episodes with commentary? This is a must own for fans of 'The Haunting of Hill House.'
