Great for the bedroom

I have it on my nightstand and use it as a clock as well as to give me weather and traffic in the morning, play relaxing music at night, add suddenly-remembered appointments to my calendar without getting up, etc.
Google did the right thing and made a smart device that does NOT have a camera, so it can't be used maliciously to monitor you in bed or bath. I have its big brother, the Hub Max, downstairs, but this one is great for any private space.

Google Assistant is the smartest of the three big-name assistants, so I can ask it most any off-hand question and get an answer without going out and doing a search. Additionally, I have a pretty smart house, and the Assistant works flawlessly with all of my lights, thrmostats, fans, etc.
This box is especially nice because I can get my answers in a graphical display, YouTube video, or whatever, and it has a nice camera so it doubles as a home security monitor and I can use it for video chat with the family.

The Maytag it replaced died after only less than five years, so no Maytag ever again, and after we bought a half-dozen Samsung appliances and had half of them fail in less than six years, I'm not ever doing Samsung again, either.
This LG model got lots of excellent reviews, so we shall see. At this point, all I can say is it's working well after a month.
