Waste of money

I bring the Switch a lot of places because the kids love to play it (relatives houses, if we;re staying in a hotel, etc.). i bought this as a 2nd power cord this way I dont have to reach behind my entertainment unit to grab the original power cord everytime we taking the Switch / docking station out of the house. Unfortuntely this doesn't work with the docking station, it's just a charger. I didnt bother testing it out until a few weeks after i bought and i didnt discover this was usual until i tried to use it at my parent's house. By that point i had thrown away the box it came in and Best Buy wouldn't take it back and Insignia won't do anything about it, so i basically threw my money away.
