I research for many months which TV I wanted to buy! There are so many types of TV's now it can be confusing at times, O-LED, Q-LED, LED, LCD, Plasma, 4K, 8K, for some this can be a little overwhelming! People ask what is the Best tv all the time! The Answer I have now learned is... WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO WATCH THE TV??? If you are in a dark basement with no windows or uncontrollable light sources, You might consider O-LED. However, many people have a window or skylights or door with glass windows, then I would suggest Q-LED. Q-LED is much brighter than a standard LED TV. It also has a great picture with 4K over a standard non-4K TV. I can turn the brightness way down to my desires. I am extremely happy with my TV. I have NOT had any issues with it at all. I also use the Samsung HW-Q950T matching Soundbar with a BDI Mirage 8227 Medi Center which I ordered all from Best buy. Latter I purchased a very high-end Panamax surge suppressor M5400-PM and found via eBay a new open box Samsung 4K UHD Matching Blu-ray Player. Then I also have another Matching Samsung VCR/DVD burner Combo to watch old VHS Tapes with memories and reunion videos if I desire and can burn DVD copies. All is plugged into the Panamax Surge Suppressor and looks very professional. The TV has the best 4K UHD picture ever!!!! I have all the smart features connected and working however I use my stand-alone 4k ROKU Ultra device which runs straight into the SoundBar for tru Dolby ATMOS sound and have done this as well with my Samsung 4k UHD Blu-ray Player as well. This gives the best raw true Dolby ATMOS Sound experience with loud bass and Awesome Surround Sound like a movie theatre! The BDI Mirage 8227 Media Center was pricey but you get what you pay for! I Love the Media Center and well worth every penny and makes everything look professional. I can not say enough good things about the Samsung Q90t TV. I was worried the rainbow eefect would bother me once I got it home and installed but I have not noticed it at all in my home install. I got a good package deal on the Q90t and HW-Q950t Soundbar package and I purchased the full extended warranty for both. The Tizen 5.0 Smart features work very well. Apps pull up and run without a problem. But I do use my stand-alone ROKU over the built-in APPS to enjoy the ATMOS Sound thru the Samsung Soundbar. I am truly 100% happy with my Q90t 65" Samsung TV. I made the right decision for my Home Install.

Excellent Soundbar!!!! - Things You Need To Know!

I researched for several months which surround system to install with my brand-new Samsung Q-LED Q90t 65" TV. I researched every brand of surround system and more and kept coming back to the matching Samsung HW-Q950T ATMOS Surround Soundbar with Sub and rear speakers. I was very concerned with all the complaints I read about!! I have not had ANY complaints with mine whatsoever! But I have learned a lot and may help those who have issues with my review. First, Be Sure to run your DVD player or ROKU directly into the soundbar FIRST using a good HDMI cable then the Soundbar to the TV in the ARC HDMI port. Yes, the TV has smart features but you will not enjoy deep loud bass or good surround sound using the Smart features off the tv. You MUST use a separate ROKU that can connect directly to the Soundbar first. I have a separate 2020 4K ROKU ULTRA stand-alone box and using good brand-new 4K HDMI cables run the ROKU into the Samsung Soundbar and then the Soundbar into the TV. I do this also with my Samsung 4K UHD DVD Blu-ray Player. The Sound is MUCH better with Deep Bass!!!! Again, You MUST run your Source THROUGH the Soundbar. If you use the built-in Apps or watch Free local tv channels you will not have much Surround sound and the Bass will be so poor. BIG Difference when you run the source THRU the Soundbar first and select the input of the device on your soundbar. I am using HDMI-1 on the Soundbar for ROKU and HDMI-2 on the Soundbar for my Blu-ray player. The Difference is AMAZING!!!! If I watch a Netflix movie on the built-in APP on the Smart TV I will NOT have good bass and little surround sound. BUT If I run my separate stand-alone ROKU 4K Ultra box on its Netflix APP the Sound is 4X louder and the Bass will knock the potted plant I have on it off the top by the end of the Movie!!! I had to learn this by trial and error because I had poor surround sound and hardly any bass until I learned this is the way it MUST be connected. NOW the Soundbar will display ATMOS when playing my 4K UHD Blu-ray DVD Player! It's better than being at the Movies!!!! I also found some REALLY NICE speaker stands for the rear speaker. They are made especially for this HW-Q950T rear speakers and fit them perfectly, you can see the attached photos. Look Under Amazon for: "Vebos Floor Stand HW-Q950T Black Set - Compatible with Samsung Q950T, Samsung HW-N950 and Samsung HW-K950" They are VERY WELL made!!!!! Worth the high price tag of $165 plus $75 shipping and arrived in just days from the Netherlands. You can even order longer AC cords up to 10ft for these speaker stands, just standard Samsung cords, or cut and add length to make your own. I am so happy with my Samsung Q950T Surround System. It fits PERFECTLY under my 65" Q90t with a little space left over. It was made to fit the Q90t perfectly in every way! My internet box is only 3 feet away running dual-band 2.1 GHz and 5GHz and I have not had ANY problems at all in the past month since installing everything. When I installed my system I took it out of the box and read all instructions and watched every YouTube video. I updated the software FIRST THING. Because when I first installed it and tried the system it cut out often and sounded bad. I thought I was experiencing all the bad issues I had read. Then I did the update successfully and everything has worked 100% Flawlessly since that day without any issues whatsoever.
- Use Good 4K UHD HDMI Cables (one will come with the system)
- Run your Source (ROKU, DVD, Cable/Sat Box) directly into your Soundbar using good HDMI cables.
- Then Run the Soundbar to the tv's ARC HDMI port
- Select the Input on the Soundbar for the device you want to listen to (ROKU, DVD, Cable/Sat Box) Example: My ROKU is HDMI1 and Blu-ray is HDMI2 on the Soundbar's input.
- Set your settings like others have suggested using the remote for the Soundbar.
- If you have everything connected correctly, You will see ATMOS displayed on the Soundbar when you are playing a 4K UHD Movie on your 4K UHD Blu-ray DVD player and you will HEAR the difference!!
- If you are still having issues then unplug your source (ROKU, DVD player) to reset it and then try playing the device to hear a much better sound. The Raw ATMOS Audio needs to go straight into the Soundbar unmodified so the Soundbar can effectively decode it. Adjust your settings accordingly on the Soundbar.
I've enclosed some photos of my setup to help. It is a clean set up with my Samsung Q90t 65" TV and Samsung HW-Q950T Soundbar and you can read more about my full set up under my other reviews. I have a Panamax surge suppressor and many other devices hidden inside my BDI Mirage 8227 Media Center which I purchased ALL thru BestBuy. I could not be happier with my system. It looks and sounds great!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MEDIA CENTER!!!!!! I looked and researched for well over 3 Months visiting every Best Buy and Magnolia Store throughout half my state when I found this BDI - Mirage TV Stand for Flat-Panel TVs Up to 60" - Black, Model: 8227-2B. Yes! It was super expensive but let me tell you that you get what you pay for! It came WELL package and FULLY assembled! This is a Rolls-Royce of Media Centers!! I can not say enough good things about this Media Center. Wheels on bottom to pull out unit to service, Very well ventaleted, Glossy Sexy Black and Tinted Black Glass self-closing doors, Top of the line hardware, Easy rear sliding panel doors. I service and repair TV's for 39 years and Install Home Theatre systems so I wanted the BEST for myself and this was my Choice and I could not be more happier!! I have a Samsung Q90T 65" Q-LED tv that fits it perfectly. The Media Center is 61" wide and my Samsung 65" Q90T is width is 57" leaving about 2" on each side of the media center underneath which looks like it was built for the TV. Every review I research had 100% 5-Stars on this product. When it arrived at the Best Buy Store even the Magnolia Best Buy Employees fell in Love with it. It is Extremely SEXY and makes your TV and other electronics really look nice and professional. I have a Samsung 4K UHD Blu-ray DVD Player and a Panamax M5400-PM Surge Suppressor and a 4K Ultra Roku device and a DVD/VCR (up scales to HDMI) and still have plenty of room for more items. All the wiring and cabling is so streamlined. BDI did a GREAT job planning and building this Media Center. You WILL NOT be disappointed!!!!!

I researched for MONTHS and purchased the Samsung 65" Class Q90T Series QLED 4K UHD Smart Tizen TV, Model: QN65Q90TAFXZA and I wanted the extended warranty for peace of mind on my investment. Best Buy has the Best Extended Warranties of ALL the retailers and I highly recommend them with your very expensive purchases. I service & repair TV's for a living and I know 1st hand how these things fail and it sure is nice when you have an extended warranty on your expensive investment. Especially if you have an LED Backlight failure. It is not cheap however I highly recommend it over an expensive out-of-warranty service cost. I do NOT want to have to service or repair my own brand-new $2k Q-LED TV should it fail within 5 years! On my other cheaper bedroom sets I did not purchase a warranty. But I highly recommend them on your higher-end more expensive purchases!

I purchased a New Samsung 65" Q90T Q-LED TV and a Samsung - HW-Q950T 9.1.4ch Soundbar with Dolby Atmos / DTS:X and Alexa Built-in (2020) - Black, and a Samsung 4K UHD Blu-ray DVD Player and a 4K Ultra Roku and other various items and installed them in my New BDI Media Center and needed a way to manage my AC cords while providing some Surge Suppression for those nasty Summer Thunderstorms we are known for in Eastern NC. So I researched for a long time and ended up with the Panamax M5400-PM, 11-Outlet Power Conditioner/Surge Protector - Black. I ended up carefully blacking out the LED Displays with electrical tape that I took my time with cutting and trimming, which made it look even better in my Media center. You CAN TURN ON AND OFF the Bright blue LED Displays!! When I need to see the AC input and output voltages I press the button and it lights up in stages of brightness. Then when I'm done I just continue to press until the LED Display is OUT. Now the side smaller horizontal LED displays STAY ON AT ALL TIMES however I have them blacked out nicely with black 3M electrical tape and it really looks nice! The SILVER or chrome rings around the two AC LED round volt meters stood out after I blacked my displays so I took small strips of electrical tape and took my time and blacked out the SILVER round trim on the AC Voltage Bezels and NOW the entrie unti is nicely BLACKED OUT and looks very professional in my BDI 8227-2 Media Center with my Above electronics. The AC cord that comes with the unit is Very long. But it is a standard Cord in the electronics industry, So I ordered a much shorter 3ft, (Same Current rating) to keep things neat and tidy. I plugged ALL my electronic items into the Panamax M5400-PM and now only ONE power cord goes to the wall outlet. SO CLEAN and tidy!!!! I purchase with Best Buy so I could retain the 3-Yr warranty. You MUST purchase thru a valid reseller to get the 3-Yr Panamax warranty protection. Best Buy also price matched the item as well. Highly recommend this purchase! I have no annoying Humming issues at all. I am very pleased with this purchase. With over $6k worth electronics plugged into this item, it was well worth the investment and the best thing was how it looked and made everything so stream-lined and clean and tidy. I purchased a very short AC extendion about 5" long for the wall wart adaptor for my 4K Ultra Roku so that it would not block two outlets. For those who do not want to see those bright blue distanting LED's YOU CAN TURN THEM OFF and even BLACK OUT the remaining ones for a totally blacked out look and yet retain the AC Voltage display when you wish to view the input and output regulation voltage. There are 4 or 5 stages of LED brightness and then the next stage turns them off, but the side horiz smaller leds on the left always stay on, I just blacked them out with electrical tape and you can NOT even tell I have them blacked out. Still looks very professional!

Is it worth the extra money to buy q90 instead of q80 if we are not interested in gaming?
YES! I own the Q90t 65" and I would highly recommend the Q90t over the Q80t. You get what you pay for! I believe you will be very glad you got the Q90t once you get it home and start using it. Full Array LED's will always look better than edge-lit. Full Array are more reliable than edge-lit LED's as well. The Samsung Q90t is Samsungs BEST HDTV for 2020. It is the one I picked and I am very happy with it after 2 months of use!!

What are the dimensions of the shelves-width, height and depth?
They are VERY adjustable, so height is totally up to you. As far as width and depth that info can be found on the SPEC page for the BDI 8227-2 which I do not have in front of me at the moment. I can tell you that it will fit most ALL electronics items such as Stereo's, AMP's, VCR/DVD Players, etc... with no problem. Even fits my Panamax M5400-PM perfectly.

Are you able to see through the cabinet doors?
Yes but it has 3 nicely heavy tinted glass doors. You can see the DVD LED power come on and you can see other electronics come on... much like a car with tinted windows. You CAN see thru it, but not like clear glass, which looks great and allows all the IR remote contols to work flawlessly. Again black smoked glass doors. At a distance you can not see the items if they are turned off (no Lights). But if I power on an item I can see the LED come on.
