I’ve only been through roughly 30 percent of the game.
It’s still got the Metroid Prime style, but the addition of the other characters in the Metroid Universe might put some off.
I really didn’t mind it as if they were to finally do a Metroid Movie, Samus would need other characters to progress the story.

This movie was such a pleasant surprise. I picked it up because it was only $6 at a Black Friday sale. I figured it wouldn't be a big loss if it turned out to be mediocre. As it turns out, the movie is fantastic. Great cast, great acting, great storyline, great cinematography. I've watched it three times since picking it up in 2019, and I'd be happy to watch it again, any time. If you haven't yet seen it, you really need to give this one a try. It's an overlooked gem.
